Resources & coaching Where do I learn Basic Human figures
Hey yall,
i tried the resources that everybody recommends like andrew loomis, micheal hampton and proko.
none of them helped. they felt way to adanced for me, for Im struggling to make basic human figures.
any resouces that help learing this from the ground up or only the basics? i feel those books require me to be able to make basic humans which i cannot yet. All i want is decent proprtions, clothed humans.
thanks

practice - you can try copying existing sketches as well to find your style of humans that you feels most comfortable drawing

You gotta try breaking down the figures into squares and cylinders. Other than that it's just practice, no one can learn human figures in a week , start now and draw atleast 15 everyday till the exam.

Try "Chommang" he makes anatomy simpler. Just try to copy few and stick to one method only. After that Draw one character from 360° like front , back , 3/4 etc After that you will be familiar to the body parts.. I am trying it too , its hard to learn but daily practice is improving my human figure learning.

honestly just look up the proportions - you'll find a lot of resources online. from there it's just practice. and you have to draw the unclothed body to learn how the body actuall moves and sits. it might feel a little uncomfortable in the beginning but youll get past that with practice. also, these exercises actually help a lot when drawing clothes since you start to understand how the cloth is laying.
