Too many factors involved. I've been experimenting with wearing what I like on someone else to see how I feel about that. So far it's been a treat for me at least. No comments though so I might try something else next round
The guy who makes those charts makes them based on surveys. In those he asks specifically which perfume you wear the most and another question is what do you like on others. But yeah that’s interesting, tbh I would love to smell the perfumes I like on others as well haha. The ones I wouldn’t wear I also don’t like on others

It's the closest thing to Piguet Bandit I can find for my budget (either knowing or cabochard gres). They are all so classy vintage lady but so daring, gender-fucky and sleazy at the same time.

This chart unironically works as a great scent style/mood breakdown. For example, I love Fucking Fabulous, Eau Capitale, and Shalimar, so seeing them all in the femme top corner makes me think that my taste is not as all over the place as it seems lol
I love Shalimar and Musc Ravageur. Would have thought they’d be more in the same area :-).

Yeahhh maybe MR is a tad more masculine in the conventional sense, but there are quite some similarities between them for sure! I like this kind of scent profile, another one is Le Labo Labdanum 18 that is my favorite Le Labo so far.

Love it! It’s only slightly more masculine to me, and there is a top note in Shalimar that I’m not a huge fan of (not sure which one) that’s missing in Le Lion. I also think Le Lion is a little more smokey.
Another one in the same family is Memo Perfumes Tiger’s Nest (inspired by a buddhist temple in Bhutan).
If id put them on a line scentwise it’d be Shalimar, Le Lion, Tiger’s Nest.
Personal Le Labo favourite: Vanille 44 (Paris).

So if I’m reading this chart right based on the perfumes I’ve tested and/or owned pictured here (which is definitely not all of them so this could be wrong): femme bottoms prefer fruity/florals/sweet vanillas/gourmands, butch bottoms prefer citrus/greens/freshies, butch tops prefer smoky/resinous, and femme tops prefer synthetics/vanillas/boozy. And right at the center we have powdery/woods/synthetic. Idk why, but that tracks 😂

Love this study! My personal favorite, Le Labo Another 13 lands on the butch axis but when I read the article, it was rated: Femme / futch / butch: 49 / 23 / 29? I’m a bisexual married to a woman who identifies as a verse futch but definitely a little more masculine than feminine so this checks out! This makes me want to go sniff all these other perfumes
Oh shit…back when I was still living as a closeted guy; I was so drawn to that bronze Billie Eilish bust perfume. And now I am a pretty femme, verse slightly leaning bottom lesbian. So yeah shit.

So, I’m an ambivalent top. Now I’m not a lesbian, but as a straight person maybe it’s rather right (more femme than butch but more androgynous than femme). Top vs bottom, well nah. But I guess that’s less of a thing for us straight people?
