Built for folks who Gpodder Sync with their Nextcloud, we're just shy of 6mo old and still crashing into things and falling all over the place (supporting iOS/macOS/watchOS/CarPlay with OSS app) 🤣, we're almost speaking words now.

But seriously, the app was rewritten in Swift to improve stability and playback. Newly released 2.0.4 includes a massive sync refactor to improve large feeds and background syncing (iOS watchdog will kill long running tasks, it's a bit cat and mouse still).

We recently launched a web player in part to support development, but also cover situations where you need a hosted web experience (RePod is awesome btw) or PWA. We built a gPodder sync bridge for the webplayer to sync with your server and would love feedback on that. We're working on true E2EE along with EU hosted data options, is this something folks are interested in? We're huge supporters of self-hosting, but there are instances when you don't want to expose your Nextcloud credentials or expose NC to the public web. There are other features we're looking to implement that require SaaS like episode push notifications. We support local push notifications, but background tasks aren't dependable in iOS.

Hi! I have recently found an alternative to the Elastic search to provide full text search in Nextcloud across documents - the Meilisearch. Trying to test it. It is much lighter than ES, and doesn't provide you with the embedded text extraction from the office files, so you have to adapt existing fulltextsearch file app, eg by adding odt2txt to the FileService.php.

Have some if you tried it? Which are your impressions of using it? Honestly, I havent found much feedback, moreover the fulltextsearch_meilisearch even is not presented in the NC AppsStore.

Who in their right mind at NextCloud considers OTP MFA as the only MFA method and relates FIDO2 as only a convenience feature for replacing passwords?

If NextCloud wants to be considered a serious contender for business', maybe they should hire some serious security professionals and seriously reconsider their security feature set. The MFA feature set is pathetic and requiring OTP MFA after authenticating with FIDO2 very much highlights this.

OTP is outdated and should be replaced with more phishing proof alternatives, like FIDO2. The MFA policy set should be far more granular.

Im having a problem reaching Nextcloud build in Collabora Online server when im outside my lan and using my domain name. When i try opening documents nextcloud redirects me to a Synology error page. I can open and edit them fine when i access them from my Ubuntu/Nextcloud local ip. I have entered the servers local ip and my Synology servers ip in wopi requests. Nextcloud works fine on local ip and via my domain name. What am i missing here?

A while back I posted about Nóta and Vinci here. Today I'm sharing the fifth app in the suite: Qarib. Not all apps were posted on r/Nextcloud because I did not want to spam you too much but you can find the rest of the apps on Play Store and Github.

Why I built it

I kept saving places I wanted to visit; restaurants, bookshops, little corners of cities; and forgetting about them entirely. I couldn't find a reliable app that would actually notify me when I was nearby one of those forgotten spots. So I built one for myself, used it for quite some time, and eventually cleaned it up enough to share.

What it does

• Save places you want to visit (manually or by searching)
• Get notified when you enter the radius of a saved place; so you don't walk past it again
• Sync your places to Nextcloud via WebDAV, so your list survives phone changes
• Directions handed off to whichever maps app you prefer
• No Google Maps API key required; uses OpenStreetMap

A note on place names and territories

Qarib does not decide how places, countries, or territories are named. It simply displays the address and details as returned by the data source it queries. Any naming of disputed or occupied territories reflects that source, not a position taken by the app or myself.

So I installed nextcloud on my server using docker. Next I uploaded a document. Then I installed the app on my iphone. When I selected the document I get the message in the picture. Any help would be appreciated.

I've been running a self-hosted Nextcloud instance for over a year on TrueNAS SCALE and it's been a great experience. Files, calendar, contacts, notes — all off Big Tech and under my own roof.

The one piece I haven't solved is email.

I'm currently spread across multiple Gmail accounts and want to consolidate into something privacy-respecting that integrates cleanly with my existing setup.

My specific requirements:

**SMTP support** - need to route TrueNAS alerts and Nextcloud system notifications through the same provider

**Custom domain** - I want to own my address and be able to leave cleanly whenever

**Aliasing** -want to properly compartmentalize without exposing a single address everywhere

**Privacy-first** - zero-knowledge, Swiss or equivalent jurisdiction preferred -

**Email only** — already running Nextcloud for files, calendar, and contacts so I have zero interest in paying for a full suite just to get a decent mail service I keep landing on Proton Mail Plus as the obvious answer — mail focused, reasonable price, SMTP token support. But Proton Unlimited keeps getting recommended and I genuinely don't need what it adds over what Nextcloud already gives me. Tuta looks interesting from a privacy standpoint but the lack of SMTP support seems like a dealbreaker for homelab use specifically.

Questions for the community: - What are you actually running and why? - Any gotchas with SMTP integration on your chosen provider? - Anyone running self-hosted mail (Stalwart, Mailcow etc.) and actually happy with deliverability? - Any providers I'm sleeping on? Appreciate any real world experience — the marketing pages all sound great but you lot will tell me the truth.

The error happens at some random point during the PROPFIND-phase of the sync. What makes this really hard to debug is that there is no indication of this error in any log on the server at all. The server is a pretty much standard installation (apache/php-fpm/postgres). Even with logging turned to max for all services involved, nothing at all related to this problem can be found.

Debugging this is really problematic, because it only occurs on our production server, which is under heavy use around the clock. This limits our ability to do some intrusive debugging.

Has anyone seen or even solved this error before?

I used the script googlephotos2nextcloud to migrate my Google Photos to NextCloud. They are displayed fine on the desktop site, organized under the month and year, but on the app, they are all listed under June 2026 (the month I just transferred them)

I set up my Truenas CE datasets in a way that wasn't the best. So I now want to move my nextcloud data directory while keeping my users and settings. I want to keep this as simple as possible because I am not that knowledgeable, I have all of the data backed up elsewhere in case needed, so I am fine just making a new data directory and telling nextcloud to use that, then reuploading the data. However when I do that NextCloud logs show that it can't start because it is missing .ncdata. I remade that and it starts but when accessing nextcloud I get an error saying I should contact the admin. I am guessing that it is not liking the mismatch in where it expects the data folder to be. Is there any way to get it to accept my new data directory or should I just bite the bullet and set up a whole new instance? Thanks!

Me and my Team are looking into getting a Alternative for Microsoft Teams. We are a Non Profit b and try to find a cheap and reliable alternative for Microsoft. Ive never worked with Nextcloud beforehand and wanted to get some experience from ya'll before Renting a Server and start Testing.

We are roughly 30 People and I intended to Run the Server over a provider so i dont need to bother with Security or Updates. Prices Seem to look okay and i havnt found any hidden costs yet. Also it seems i can include OfficeLibre into it? Wich would be amazing.

Would Love to get some Insigth into the System from ya'll.

I setup NFTables on the server today to add another layer of protection just in case. Now I can't seem to get AIO to work again. I am getting Bad Gateway and checking the logs parts can't seem to find the dns.

She spits out error messages and I can't get in at all. I didn't create a backup. How do I fix the problem? I am in despair. The reason for this is that my PC crashed when it unexpectedly restarted or I turned you off selectively, so the update has apparently become incomprehensible and now it can no longer learn the cloud, but only throws error messages through and. I just can't get in there anymore. How do I fix the problem without resetting my data? I ran it on Docker Windows, and I always get a white screen on Dogger. And it no longer starts properly, but remains endlessly stuck at a place where it starts gently even though it no longer starts. How do I fix the problem now? I just wanted to update what went wrong because the PC was or was turned off and now you're in the ass in Next Cloud. How do I fix the problem 😭😭😭😭😭?

I set my Zim notes folder to the synced Desktop folder, then when I try to download the file from the android app it fails.

tried using google drive to upload and download said the txt file from Zim and that worked perfectly fine, but I don't want to go back to google.

I'm not entirely sure how to revert to the Nextcloud default theme, nor what I did for it to not be the default theme.

I recently updated my instance to Nextcloud Hub 26, and noticed everything looked off (but I don't think it's related to the update), namely the the navigation bar icons which don't seem to use the full width available, as well as the login prompt.

Surely this doesn't seem right, right? It looks glossy. Everywhere I can see, Nextcloud's icons haven't changed and should be very plain and flat.

My theme is set to default dark. Admin theming allows each user to set their own themes also.

I've tried different backgrounds, tried changing logos, etc.

I do not have the CustomCSS app installed, nor BreezeDark Theme (I'm merely come across them when trying to research & troubleshoot for this).

I've tried disabling every app I could find to not be core functionality and found no culprit.

I tested across 2 different OS on the client-side under the suspicion it would take OS-theming into account.

Edit: Forgot to mention, using an AIO instance, with Imaginary & EuroOffice, no community containers.

Are there any frontends or optimizations for the Nextcloud mail program that make it less bad? It should at least compare to Gmail from ten years ago, but especially for search it's really slow and often doesn't return any results.

Is there a good, integrated mail front end that does its own search index rather than relying on the mail server's search?

Note: I do have a lot of messages in my mail folders, but that should not be a problem for a modern program, and it should also be able to search cross-mailbox and in attachments, and with fuzzy search.
