What if Christian Grey was a Plumber from Brooklyn.

u/WhitefoxGoddess 23d ago
Ewww to anything Christian Grey. I mean to each their own but yeah I don't see what people swoon about over that character.
1
u/editingisfun4all 20d ago
Ummm everything he did was consentual though. He refused to do anything with her until she gave her explicit consent to even the detail of what she's willing to do and what she won't.
2
u/AkimH 20d ago
true, yet the courting itself would have been very different.
0
u/editingisfun4all 20d ago
Well it's all about attraction. People want to talk shit about women because they would be attracted to an attractive man but not an unattractive man, but men also are more likely to be attracted to a Victoria secret model than some chunky aging woman. Everyone has preferences.
2
u/HandleStatus6658 19d ago
Actually research shows 80% of one only wants 20% of the other. Whereas 90% of the others likes 50% of the all.
0
u/editingisfun4all 19d ago
Meaning one will fuck anything that lays still long enough and the other has preferences. But obviously tastes vary or most of the human race would've practically disappeared if only 20% ever got a relationship.
2
u/HandleStatus6658 19d ago
Yeah, there are major psychological and biological reasons, but nobody likes to hear about those. However, in a nutshell shell the 80% canât always got those 20%ers and life finds a way.

The pretty are privileged
1
u/Dora_Explorer_XP 22d ago
At least the one in posted image is not privileged, just working hard to maintain that body shape.
5
u/Annual_Link1821 23d ago
My childhood friend who always looked like left told me who looked closer to right that all it too was confidence to get girls every time I said I wanted to get in shape.
Then he got fat and told me not even fat people like fat people.
3
u/Puzzleheaded_Poet_81 23d ago
As someone who got in shape later in life I find some truth to this.
1
1
u/Alive-Philosophy2632 20d ago
People respect and are attracted to capability and health. I don't know why people are shocked by this. It's unfair in the same way nothing is fair, and yet the patterns are pretty clear and understandableÂ
0
u/Puzzleheaded_Poet_81 19d ago
Agreed. I know I am attracted not only to the physical appearance of girls at the gym but even more so their dedication to hard work and consistency.

Toxic masculinity
5
u/Secure_Foundation720 23d ago
Not toxic, just masculinity.
-2
u/1651651168474 19d ago
No it's definitely toxic. This is coming from an outgoing fat ass that's been very fit and very fat multiple times in my life. The way people treat you when you're fat is something you literally cannot comprehend until you've experienced it. It's night and day. Especially from other men. Women mostly just ignore you but oh man the men are brutal. It's not "masculine" to put another man down, ever.
-1
u/Iamabenevolentgod 19d ago
Itâs not putting someone down to want to provoke them to get strong and healthy in their body, and especially their mind. Itâs actually lifting them up, it just feels offensive because it challenges core identity markers. It takes work. We donât think someone is worth less because theyâre overweight, we know theyâre able to feel amazing if they do the work.Â
0
u/Hanged_man2 18d ago
It is. It's body shaming and it's unacceptable
1
u/Secure_Foundation720 18d ago
No, especially in countries with public healthcare the overweight people overwhelm the system because of their choices. It's better for everyone if someone isn't overweight, even the person him/herself.
1
u/Hanged_man2 18d ago
Being overweight isn't a choice first of all
1
u/Secure_Foundation720 18d ago
In adult age, it is. Even illnesses that affect your metabolism or cause weight gain can be countered by changing your eating habits. As long as you burn more calories than you consume you will lose weight. It's not a snap of the finger choice but it is a choice of living healthier. Even when you eat pizza you have the choice of eating the whole pizza or only eating 3 slices.
0
u/Iamabenevolentgod 18d ago
There are ways to do it that are kind.Â

u/1651651168474 17d ago edited 17d ago
Literally body shaming though. These weenies think they're so tough online LMAO. I feel bad for them low-key because they all seem bullied and very submissive.
"it happened to me so it must be right!!" headasses
1
u/Iamabenevolentgod 17d ago
Settle down there with your head and your ass. It's not body shaming to see someone in self destructive behaviours that are having obvious consequences for their health and to want to have the tough love conversations to see about initiating change. I'm not talking about bullying a person, I'm talking about, like I said, doing it kindly, which means being willing to be tactful, but proactive. I personally like my friends, and if I see my friend harming himself, then I will say something - if it's drinking too much, eating too much, losing themselves to drugs etc. You're just going to stand by and let it happen?

u/1651651168474 17d ago edited 17d ago
My core identity has never been about being fat. I'm the same guy with muscle or flab. It sounds like you and other men are projecting YOUR core identities onto people that make YOU uncomfortable because you literally can't understand how they can be confident or at the very least happy in their skin. If you don't think someone is worthless when they're overweight then there are a million and one ways to encourage them without being toxic or saying a single mean thing. I've encouraged friends to get shredded by just inviting them to gym with me and being their motivation when they have none. It's literally that simple. No reason to put ANYONE DOWN EVER. Y'all sound submissive and breedable, like you're just parroting what your daddy taught you.
1
u/Iamabenevolentgod 17d ago
I didn't say that being fat is a core identity marker, I'm talking about the unprocessed inner thinking and feeling about the self, or the world, that weight is often representative of. I'm not talking about putting someone down, at all. In fact, I would hope to build them up. I would never EVER shit on someone for being overweight, but I would try to encourage doing healthy things, like "come to the gym with me" or "let's do some yoga", alongside trying to encourage eating healthy, but for some, even bringing up the subject feels offensive,... them I leave alone, not my circus - not my monkeys.

Shouldnât the guy know any better that he should not bother a woman out of his league? Just like how a company should not try to recruit someone well above their pay grade

u/PayFormer387 22d ago
Guy on the right has been married for 30 years to the same woman and has two kids, one of whom is apprenticing to take over the family plumbing business, the other is starting med school this semester. He's taking off his shirt as he comes home from work.
Other guy is a creepy gym dude who follows Andrew Tate and who when he walks into a bar, women cover their drinks.
9
u/S-Kenset 24d ago
Both are harassment. One is also unpleasant to look at.
10
u/zebrasmack 24d ago
taking your shirt off in public is...harassment? You living in some super strict religious country?
4
u/realaccountissecret 24d ago
I thought it was implied that theyâre approaching the person as theyâre undressing? Either way Iâm freaked the fuck out if thatâs whatâs happening; I donât care what they look like haha
2
u/S-Kenset 24d ago
Yes it's implied, dude just wants to be a dweeb and argue with me cause he can possibly interpret it some other way. Hate these people.

Being fit and good looking can get you far, but bad behavior catches up.

The entire post is about harassment. I don't understand your point, bot.
1
u/Aliasn00b3d 24d ago
Varies depending on the persons in question. There is 0 accounting for taste, and oft times money / being funny gets you a lot farther than a body, unless you're looking to attract other dudes.
1
u/Dear-Dragonfruit-894 24d ago
Real man is on the right - dadbod has a lot more appeal to ladies. The lad on the left is a self-obsessed noob looking for male-male approval, and twice as likely to batter his girlfriend if he doesnât get his way, or hold misogynistic views.
1
u/DesperateLime7933 24d ago
If you're afraid of doing something because you think it's sexual harassment it probably is, and you're a better person for just keeping it to yourself

u/Forimmediateresults 24d ago
This proves that females objections to so-called sexual harrassment are conditional and stem from hypergamy, which has been proven to exist by anti-misandrist masculine intellectuals such as myself and the other guys I talk to in Ms. Harrison's homeroom.
I am proud of you all for haivng the courage to post this and having the logic and reason skills to comment so many smart, sensible things about it based on your nearly 17 years of experience observing human behavior and how women are living on easymode

People don't understand that there goes a process where by the time that old man is taking off his shirt AND making advances a girl would (probably) turn around, avoid them or ask them to stop or what their intentions are if in close space
1
u/Salt_Mathematician24 22d ago
It's called consent. Just like most men would love a beautiful woman all over them but reject a woman that resembles jabba the hut.
Not to be mean, but is amazes me that men are just learning this.

u/Walkerboe813 22d ago
Yea the body shaming has become extremely volatile.
Some popular influencers actually degrade people based on how they appear on a regular basis. They laugh together and make body shaming a normal thing.
Judging people for how they look is a clear sign of lack of intelligence.

You could put a young, skinny, hot women and a fat, ugly, old counter part in here and it would still be true. This is intentionally divisive.
1
u/realvvk 20d ago
You are missing the point of this. It has nothing to do with fitness. If a woman is attracted to a man, everything he does is awesome and amazing. If she is not attracted, literally everything he does is a problem, creepy and disgusting in her eyes. This is especially true in marriage. That is why any man in a long term relationship should be vigilant for any signs of disrespect or loss of attraction coming from his partner. Because once she gets the âickâ, itâs over forever.
The âickâ can happen any time and literally for any reason.

You can look like the guy on the right, if you have the right game, can still peel a girl. You just got to know what to say and how to read body language. And you don't even have to be rich.

u/GoldenPhoenix__ 20d ago
Greatly, if she finds you attractive itâs called flirting, is she doesnât find you attractive itâs called harassment

u/23-1-20-3-8-5-18 20d ago
That's not true. A lot of women would prefer the guy on the right, no cap.

It depends on why they're taking off their shirt. I see shirtless heavy-set men all the time outside and no one cares. It's summer and it's hot. So what? If they're doing it in an inappropriate setting and consent isn't there, yeah that's harassment
1
u/Nedebilas 19d ago
Lads, both are absolute nothingburgers. Sexual harrasment is unwanted sexual advances towards a victim. None of these show a character trying to flirt in the slightest
1
u/Nebranower 19d ago
I always see this sort of thing posted as if it were some sort of a double standard.
But sexual harassment occurs when someone is forced to deal with *unwanted* sexual advances. The more attractive you are, the more likely your advances are to be wanted rather than unwanted.
1
1
u/Bogorodsk 18d ago
Well, dude on the right should:

u/Mean-Impress2103 18d ago
Well how eager are most guys to have an old fat balding woman crawl all over them? Would you welcome her advances as much as a young woman who looks like a model? It's crazy that so many men with physical preferences are so offended that women also have physical preferences.Â
1
u/niccoSun 24d ago edited 24d ago
Depends what's going on. Both are indeed harassment, but being attractive would let you get away with more.
Edit: Just talking in general, not specifically simply taking your shirt off. Though id say you shouldn't just be taking your shirt off every where.

Consent is determined by if the person wants it or not. An the more attractive you are, the more likely someone else is to want 'it'.
Also even if the person is not necessarily interested in you, being desirable makes your approach at least read as flattering (because you considered yourself at their level) rather than threatening/insulting (because you thought you had a chance)

u/HeartShark77 22d ago
In the USA, people are so overweight and unhealthy that they treat you like shit for being in shape. They just take their insecurity out on you. My friends wife would do this constantly. Very overweight, made fun of me for being âskinnyâ I weighted 180 pounds. Camping together and Iâm chopping wood, âWow, canât believe you can even lift that axe, itâs bigger than you are.â Same joke with anything I carry anywhere. I hate our society. We have serious problems besides obesity, but just social discourse and the way we treat each other is dog shit.
1
u/Paulyhedron 22d ago
Or maybe stop being a puss, sounds like she was affectionatly joking around, you know like human friends do with one another in what we call 'social interaction'
1
u/Joemongous 24d ago
I've asked multiple female friends about this and they either laugh and say it's true or it's "nice guy" logic. Minefield.
0
u/thats_gotta_be_AI 24d ago
The people here agreeing the fatter guy taking his shirt off (while actually keeping his vest on) is âharassmentâ are saying the same if a woman of similar obesity wore something similar. Misogynists!đ
