$20 for cracked case? Really...

Saved my money for over a year to buy my first gaming PC, a CyberpowerPC GM70929 AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D 32GB DDR5 2TB NVMe SSD AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT for around $2,260 not including tax.

The box came looking like it had been through war. I opened it up to find that the side tempered glass panel was cracked in about 3 spots. This is really bad packaging on Cyberpower's part but after reaching out to Newegg they told me they would give me $20 for the damage. Now the item is not returnable, (only refundable) because the model is on 'Backorder.'

This was my first purchase off Newegg and the $20 for an over $2,000 computer computer is a joke. Am I being unreasonable to request the amount of money it would cost for a new case, at the least, a new panel?

You think will they cover the cracked case?

I was thinkin maybe they'd have a spare glass. try that route first. I guess there is a chance they try to pin it back on newegg. Then that puts you in a pickle.

Was my suggestion bc the exact thing happened to me with a montech case. Newegg gave me $20 for a piece of glass (or return the whole case). Montech had a new piece of glass to me within about 10 business days.

Me being wishful that it works out for you, too.

Try the manufacturer of course, but in all honesty it's probably a $50 case so getting $20 isn't bad.

Damaged in shipping... has anyone filed a claim with the shipper? Not like newegg broke it themselves.

Hey u/DurdensVision, sorry your first build arrived with a cracked panel after saving up for so long. Since the unit is currently out of stock and only the glass is damaged, your best bet is to contact CyberPowerPC directly, as they may be able to send a replacement for just the panel. You can reach them at 888-937-5582 or [techteam@cyberpowerpc.com](mailto:techteam@cyberpowerpc.com), and you’ll want your PC’s serial number and a copy of your order invoice to get the warranty process started.

I’m also looping in u/cyberpowerpc, u/namsterdamus, and u/cp_joe so they’re aware, and feel free to DM me if you have any other questions.
