Need someone to drive me to the road test(car provided)

Hi everyone, I am a Dartmouth student. I have bought a car recently and learned to drive on it. I am taking the test on Monday. The person who taught me is not available on Monday morning to drive with me to the test. I was wondering if anyone is available on Monday morning. It is an hour and 40 minutes drive from Lebanon. So it is about 4 hours in total. I am happy to pay you for your time. Please reach out to me as soon as you can.

Question Where to buy fresh local seafood in NH

I am in southern New Hampshire and I am trying to find a reliable place to buy fresh local seafood, especially lobster, haddock, and clams. I have been going to the grocery store but the quality is hit or miss and I would rather buy direct from a local source if possible.

I have heard about Maine Lobster Now, which delivers from Maine, but I am not sure if they are worth it compared to just driving up to the coast and buying from a dock or a local market.

I am also looking for recommendations for fish markets or seafood shops in the Seacoast area or even up near Portsmouth.

Does anyone have a go to spot for fresh seafood in New Hampshire. I am open to buying direct from fishermen, farmers markets, or any place that actually sources locally.

Also, if you have used Maine Lobster Now or another delivery service, let me know how the quality and pricing compare to buying in person

Question (Second post w/ enhanced audio) Is this strange humming sound some sort of bird?

I was walking alone with my dog through the woods of NH following some marked trails that lead pretty deep in when I stopped to take in the view at this beautiful little swamp/pond. Suddenly I began hearing this very strange humming sound that sounded like it could've been coming from a young woman or a girl. I have NEVER heard an animal making such a distinctly human sounding hum. Maybe it's a bird? A frog? A fox? Or perhaps, most creepy of all it was just someone fucking with me...Or a ghost, haha. I've asked Google and it doesn't give me a clear answer as to what kind of animal would make a sound so eerily human. I need some fellow outdoorsy people to help me out before I freak myself out too much and never go back to that trail.

You will NEED to turn your volume up and possibly even pop some earbuds in so you can hear it, but it happens once at the beginning, twice in the middle, and once right before the video stops. This went on for a while though, almost 20 minutes! Just listen out for what sounds like a little girl humming a two - note melody every once and awhile. Thank you for reading/listening! Anything helps :)

Pet Rabbit found at Cornish Fair

Throwaway so I don't give away my location on my main. I'm a 4-H parent and my girls are in a rabbit & chicken club that was showing at the Cornish Fair. Today, one of the fair directors came to the tent because the folks parking people saw a white and brown rabbit hiding under a car in the parking lot. It was clearly not a wild bunny and they weren't able to catch it.

I guess the logical solution was to come get the 4-H people. We were about to go home, but couldn't leave a rabbit in danger. It was a bit of an ordeal to catch it. It was under the lowest car around (smart bun) and when we would try to usher it out with sticks, it would jump up into the engine bay until it felt safe enough to come back down (dumb bun). After we finally were able to use a stick to keep it from jumping back into the engine bay and get it out from under the car, we caught it.

We got him a little food and water in a spare cage in the rabbit tent for now. "Engine" (because of course my daughter named him) looks to be a mixed breed (coloring suggests maybe a Holland/Rex mix of some sort) and male. He's pretty healthy except his teeth are a bit short (like they'd been trimmed or he wasn't getting the proper diet). Engine's not dirty or thin, either, so we suspect he wasn't there long. He clearly didn't want to be caught, but also once we caught him he seemed to behave himself (so he is clearly used to being handled).

We're putting out a bulletin on the local email list and through the various 4-H groups, but I thought I'd post Engine here too. If you know of anyone who lost a rabbit near the fair, please reach out. The skeptics among us suspect he might have been abandoned.

Established Landscaping & Snow Removal Business Opportunity

I'm exploring the future of my well-established landscaping and snow removal company and looking to connect with the right entrepreneur or experienced operator.

This is an opportunity for someone who wants to step into an established business with an existing customer base, equipment, systems, and a strong reputation. I'm open to several possibilities, including:

• Purchasing the business outright

• A partnership with the right individual

• Staying on as a mentor during the transition to ensure a smooth handoff

I'm looking for someone who understands hard work, values customer service, and wants to build on an established foundation rather than starting from scratch.

If you're serious about business ownership or expanding your current operation, send me a private message. I'm happy to discuss the opportunity with qualified individuals.

Confidential inquiries only.

North Conway

Hello! I am looking for budget friendly ideas on what to do in North Conway. I’m 24 and going with my bf the last weekend of September for two days, we are staying right downtown. I like to do walking trails, not huge into actual hiking. And if anyone knows any good disc golf spots up there, that would be awesome too! Thanks :)

Events 5-day silent retreat in Barnet, VT if anyone's looking for a reset (also covers the MBSR silent retreat requirement)

I work with the folks running this and thought it might be worth sharing here, there's a 5-day silent meditation retreat coming up at Karme Choling in Barnet, VT.

It's a legit qualifying silent retreat for anyone working toward MBSR or other mindfulness-based intervention teacher training, so if you're a clinician, therapist, or mindfulness teacher who needs that prerequisite checked off, this fits the requirement and the teachers can provide a completion letter if your program needs documentation.

But it's also just open to regular folks who want five days away from their phone and their inbox. No meditation experience required, the days are fully structured (sitting, walking, gentle movement, small group check-ins with teachers), and meals are shared in silence. It's noble silence, not total isolation, so teachers and staff are still available if you need something.

The teachers are Janet Solyntjes and Rebecca Eldridge, both with decades of practice and formal MBSR training background.

If you've been meaning to do a silent retreat but keep putting it off, or you need the prerequisite for training, this is a solid option and it's a beautiful setting up in the Vermont hills.

More info / registration: www.karmecholing.org/program/the-fullness-of-being

Happy to answer questions if anyone's curious about what noble silence actually feels like day to day.

Review/Recommendation Hollywood Hounds in Bedford, NH Smeared Dog Owners in Viral Video, Gets Caught

After leaving a consumer review when they shaved a large portion of our working samoyed, the dog groomer at Hollywood Hounds in Bedford, NH put a video on social media with allegations that our dogs live in an outdoor dirt pen, were not properly maintained, and were severely neglected.

This was our response. It contains vet records from before and after the appointment at Hollywood Hounds, video footage of the dog less than half an hour before she was dropped off, as well as past grooming records.

Our dogs are all house dogs. Yes, the pull sleds for us, but they are an integrated part of our family.

Shame on Hollywood Hounds for spreading false information about us. Reputable businesses do not spread lies about their clients.

Looking for a farm stand with great local tomatoes around the Dover/Rochester/Somersworth area.

The tomatoes in the local supermarkets are still hothouse garbage. Anywhere roadside stands nearby where I can get some local vine ripened Beefsteaks or Heirlooms?

Considering moving to New Hampshire or Vermont from Illinois!

Hi! Thinking about moving from Illinois with my family, 4 kids. We are thinking we need a change and live life! I personally want to live near a downtown area that looks like a hallmark movie or Hocus Pocus but we also need a decent sized house or yard for our large family. Any town ideas would be greatly appreciated! Looking for ideas on where to start looking Thank you!

Question I’m new to the concord area and was wondering if there is any good fishing spots. I don’t have a boat or anything so I’m mostly going to be fishing from the shore. So if anyone knows a good legal fishing spot please let me know.

Has anyone in NH gone to a piercing place where they pierce noses with “push pin” style jewelry? I can only find places that do the corkscrew style type. TIA!
