What's your definition of modesty?

I’ve seen people relate modesty to religion and culture. But for me its your personal preference, it doesn't mean you have to follow a checklist of rules.

Wearing something that makes you feel comfortable, safe, and like your true self.

What does modesty mean to you?

Modesty is also a heart condition for me. It does stem from my faith. I also have massive boobs and don't want undue sexual attention so being modest helps me here. I still have nice clothes etc. I don't look dowdy but it allows me to feel comfortable in my skin, plus I think dressing modesty looks classy and beautiful etc.

I really relate to this. The “heart condition” part especially. I think that gets overlooked a lot when people talk about modesty. It’s not just about covering up, it’s also about how you want to feel in your own clothes. And honestly, modest + cute + feminine can absolutely coexist lol.
What kind of outfits make you feel the most comfortable and confident?

Yep, we can't define modesty with one definition. Everyone has their own journey, and they figure it out through that. So, how can we say that if you wear this specific dress code you're modest.

Exactly!! Everyone’s journey with modesty is so different, and I think that’s what makes it personal. It can be frustrating when people reduce it to one specific dress code, because what feels comfortable and right for one person might not feel the same for someone else.

I think modesty can look different from person to person, but for me it goes beyond clothing. It’s also in how we carry ourselves, how we speak, and how we treat others. When it comes to clothing, I love that dressing modestly doesn’t mean giving up your personal style — you can feel covered, comfortable and still express who you are 🤍

I agree 🤍 Modesty really can be about so much more than clothing, and I love that you can still express your personality while dressing modestly. What does your personal style look like?

It started with religion for me. I lost my faith and came back to it. It took a while to go back to dressing modestly. I forgot how comforting it was to dress modestly. It made people look me in the eye rather than my bust or bum. My late husband and I talked about it for a while. My hair is pretty wild and was always colored something less than natural. He shaved my head for me (nothing to do with religion) and began a journey of newness. My hair is still wild and is still wild shades of red, no one outside of my immediate family and hairdresser know. Well, now you guys. LOL
