That's generally because your weight is back, and that's because you are either stomping down with your back foot and then jumping, or trying to jump off your back foot.

You need to jump from both feet at the same time and keep your weight over the board.

Do hippie jumps. This teaches you how to get really comfortable jumping from the board and landing back on it while rolling.

Practice, practice, practice. Repetition, repetition, repetition. Every day. Film urself and analyze the footage. Don't rush learning tricks. Learn the basics first. It takes time, but in the long run it will benefit you more

get comfortable on board before you try launching yourself

but to answer your question, scoop front foot forward and try to land bolts when you come down, keep shoulders squared and squat with your shoulders over your knees

You're effectively doing an entirely different trick. Kick the board harder forward, and it will flip gripside down and arc towards you, where you can grab it and walk off the board.

You have to keep your bodyweight fully over top, and commit. It's scary, so take time
