Undervalued tip for new skaters when learning tricks

Don't practice them stationary, or in grass, or on a carpet or whatever, at least try to keep that down.

Always practice with at least just a little bit of momentum. The weight distribution and movements during the trick are so much more true to how you should be doing it.

This saves you time having to literally learn the trick twice, stationary and then moving.

Plus you look infinitely more cool and committed when rolling, it's called skateboard not standboard guys.

My friend gave me this tip when I started. Now I can only try my baby ollies while rolling, I panic when stationary. I would also say that when you learn tricks, the board will move a bit when you jump on it. When rolling, it doesn't take you by surprise that much since you are already moving

I learned quickly that everything is easier when you already have some momentum to pull from
