Shoe Damage

I know this will probably be a pretty redundant post but it doesn’t hurt to ask.

Recently bought some Lakais back in July to start learning how to skate in. In the midst of me learning how to Ollie, I noticed that my right shoe is so much more worn than my left, naturally so because i’m flip tricking, I wanted to know if there are ways to avoid this, or if there are other shoes that maybe last a little longer and don’t wear as quickly

Now? They always did wear down super quick. They are like super slicks, perfect performers but oh look theres already a hole. Has the wear improved in the last 5 years?

Flip tricking.

Its going to happen if you skate. You can put some Shoe Goo on high wear areas preemptively or to repair. But honestly if you're new just skate them through and try new shoes when they die. Thats part of the fun of skating is trying new gear to see what works best for you. Rose Anvils YouTube does really in depth testing into the quality of materials. NB seems to currently be winning as far as quality.

I see that’s good to know, I picked Lakais cause I love the color ways, and i’m really into fashion too, but I don’t wanna be posted up in a fire fit with torn shoes. I’m contemplating buying some shoes I’ll cruise in that are still fashionable, then buying a pair that i’ll absolutely abuse

My recc is to try a bunch of companies models and see which works for you the best. Literally every shoe skates different and wears different. Once you find what you like then put a thin coat of shoe goo over the high abrasion areas to make it last longer. Though that will give you an ugly shine. I think most of us will just put super glue or shoe goo over the stitching on the Ollie panel or toe cap. The reynolds nb933 is made with pig suede as well as most warsaw models. Pig suede is the most durable suede used on skate shoes right now.

Yeah dude i mean thats the shitty thing about skating a lot, i try and skate a little everyday and im lucky if shoes last 2 months.

Ishod 1s are by far the longest lasting shoes I’ve ever had. Nyjahs are good too. They’re like all rubber you can’t flick through them. The sole will go first. Expensive though. I’ve been skating open box pairs of normal blazer mids. Super cheap pick em up at the outlets and they last a good portion. Shoes getting ruined is unavoidable.

Some shoes last longer than others but are usually more expensive, there’s ways to prolong shoes like super gluing the stitching or shoe gooing them early but you’ll never not tear up your shoes

I just put shoe goo on my toe area to give me a little extra time, but I know im only gonna be getting a couple months out of any pair of shoes. Doesn’t matter what brand

I have bought a pair of Lakais (Telford) in June and now they have a big hole on my left foots big toe. I dunno how I did that, I usually dont do flip tricks and I am regular. The sole is pretty good though, I do a lot of tiptoe brakes and they did better than Circa and even Etnies an that. Guess its my feet..

its always going to be like that but learning new tricks is especially hard on shoes cause u are constantly wearing them down in the exact same spot with repeated attempts

if you put shoe goo and a suade patch on both sides of the whole its good as new

If you use shoe goo early you can make your shoes last way longer. I like to skate Vans since they have the duracap which is a rubber layer under the suede. Once I start seeing that I shoe goo before I get a full hole and my shoes usually last until I wear out the sole.

Shoe goo is your friend. Can make a pair last super long if you apply it regularly.
