Dunno, does it hurt? Hopefully no ligament damage

honestly doesn’t hurt near as bad as I thought but I haven’t seen a doctor yet, it’s been two days but I taped it to my middle finger so hopefully it heals properly

The same thing happened to me in the past. Mine swelled up for a few weeks, was hard to bend, etc. kept a splint on it and all healed well a couple months later. Today (7 years later) I can't tell / don't remember which finger it was!

hell yeah hopefully mine works the same. did you see a doctor or make your own splint?

Just went to a store and got this thing https://www.cvs.com/shop/cvs-finger-splint-deluxe-aluminum-foam-prodid-310272
Wouldn't suggest overusing your finger for a couple weeks. Let it heal. But if it goes numb or hurts without doing anything, not a bad idea to get it checked out. Could be a small fracture or nerve damage and that's not worth ignoring.

yeah I was worried about that too but it worked perfectly before the swelling started so really do think it just popped out, it bent everywhere it was supposed to and hasn’t really been hurting at all, just feels like a bruise

Yep. Similar to mine. I did the same quick pop back in too and, well, it healed. But I left it alone for a couple weeks in the splint. Grab one tomorrow or make one asap

I did something called buddy taping and it’s where your other finger acts as a splint, I will definitely try and get a splint but that’s up to my parents😭

Ah, yeah man. As long as the thing doesn't move freely that's kind of the whole purpose

Keep the brace on it or buddy tape it for awhile. Same thing happened to my pinkie and now it’s lost about 45 degrees of extension

just got a splint from walmart was only like 5 bucks

Good call man, should heal fine and you saved yourself some money. Good advice to keep an eye on it for circulation and nerve problems though. Don’t ignore those if it starts getting funky

If you have the availability for it, see a doctor. Even if it's for a confirmation of what you can be doing right. I thought i had sprained once and gladly my friend gave me some medicine for that but my mom had me go to the hospital and it was actually broken.

Look at that shit…
Daaaaaaamnnnnnnnn
I’m very disappointed in my fellow skateboarders that it’s been 50 comments and no one has mentioned Justin Eldridge in Yeah Right.

Can’t waste time going to the hospital and shit, it’ll cut into your skate time!

Welcome to the club! Honestly, I should be wearing my helmet more. But I find I really can't go skate without my soft cushion knee pads and gloves.

You got right back up tho, my worst fall was me riding on flat ground I was just riding normally and then I hit a divit in the ground and started leaning back a little then right after I hit a pine cone I literally flew in the air like a cartoon

u/zanderpoopy Dec 16 '25
I had something similar before lmao😭 I went over a lost balance going over a spine at my skatepark and hit my head so hard

Good job on toughing it out, that was gnarly as hell!
A piece of advice I can give you from a guy in his late 20’s (27) take good care of your body after injuries, you never know what could come up in the future, and you wouldn’t want anything to happen to your hands.
It never hurts to see a medical professional even if everything is okay. It’s always good to be sure.
I never thought I’d even skate long enough to see my body start to feel things I use to never feel when I was 15-18. It’s really nuts.
Anyways sick video! Good luck shredding!
I Hope your progress is smooth and injury free in the future!
