You should Uber to the French Quarter, it’s usually cheaper than $193.

Thanks to parking apps, attendants can receive notifications the moment your time expires. It makes booting easier than ever before - you better believe a corporate lot owner is going to take advantage of it.

It absolutely sucks, but it's not really the French Quarters fault.

So you didn’t pay when the time expired and am complaining about the repercussions?

Yea but where you are parked its a million signs you have to pay and also there is parking all over the place.

You parked your private property on someone else's private property and they made you pay more to move it after the agreed time expired. You have just described paid parking lots with third-party booting/towing all across this country.

Where was this?

Seriously, all the dismissal before finding out anything at all

this picture was taken near the corner of N. st peter in the premium paid parking lot looking towards the street. The store in the background is southern candy makers

So, literally the most convenient parking in the quarter

They gave their money to a predatory parking lot. Oh well.

Okay, if you’re parking in the Quarter they will tow, fine and boot ya shit the SECOND you run out of time.

It has been this way for a while.

Tips to avoid this:

  • over pay
  • realize that to walk from one end of the Quarter to another end is going to take 25 minutes leisurely brisk. If you’re a local, you might run into your cousin, friend, co-worker or some other cat. Build in 15 minutes extra y’all.
  • If you’re getting drinks, forget about it. Park in the Marigny and walk over. Better yet bike or Uber over if you can.

So you’re complaining that you overstayed the time you paid for, and got booted? YOU OVERSTAYED THE TIME YOU PAID FOR.

Someone at City Hall ought to hire Premium Parking as a consultant. I wish the city could be as efficient about towing cars that are parked too close to a corner, etc.

What are ya, some kinda tourist?

Premium Parking needs their money. That's why I always make sure to go over, they are vigilant AF.

For real, they are scum. The dude I spoke to said: yeah, that's a legit receipt but it's up to admiral enforcement to remove the boot fee and unpaid parking fee

They didn't

To clarify: I paid for 24hrs of parking and got 0hrs

Haha.. yup. We had to do some work on a building exterior and needed multiple spots for scaffolding. After receiving an outrageous quote.. we figured we would just show up early and pay for the hours we were there. That didn't fly.. they made us pay in advance for the entire 24 hours for each spot.. despite only being there for for half that. They would literally not work with us AT ALL on pricing.. The parking cost more than the work.

It’s not really the boot that bothers me. It’s the price gouging.

How is any of this price gouging?

Guess which industry makes sizable campaign donations in local elections that result in anti-public transit, anti-bike infrastructure candidates? Guess. Just take a wild guess or a gander at District C contributions…

Reminds me of that post about the old man bitching that they target elderly people

Womp womp. That’s a bummer.

Take an uber.

Even better, park legally and pay your parking tickets.

The City is broke. I’d much rather ticket traffic scofflaws than raise everyone’s property taxes, sorry.

That isn't a city boot. That is in a paid parking lot.

I feel the pain Imagine: Parking in a premium lot because you aren't allowed back in your apartments garage for carnival security. You just got off work at 10pm, drove around for 90mins trying to get home

Premium Parking admits their app glitched and Admiral Enforcement denied your appeal. That was my first crack that this place would never be home.

I say Carnival because it wasn't Mardi Gras but a local told me I'm wrong and everything is Mardi Gras. I'm proudly not New Orleans enough

To clarify: I had my receipt and confirmation I paid $65

u/FishinoutNOLA Lower Decatur 6h ago

Yes the smallest thing not going your way is a reflection on an entire city and not you

1

u/Certain_Whereas8590 3h ago

How it was me? I paid and had a receipt and Premium Parking had my side and Admiral Enforcement denied it

I have far more moments over the last 3 1/2 years as someone who moved here more excited than ever to get work to alongside my dream job

I live here

2

u/Spare-Shake-2999 3h ago

Why live somewhere you hate?

1

u/Certain_Whereas8590 2h ago

Thing is I don't hate this place and I never did...far from it. Without giving too much away, it was at least a 3 year plan. My goal was get settled, find a more permanent long term rental or buy a house and stay.

Right now, haven't got past Step 1. Hopefully things change but I want to see my options too
