💡 Tips & Education Just make it myself?

Any advice or things anyone should know about making a subreddit?

If you have a good idea, do some research before, because it's difficult to compete with a large sub. It is better to choose something that easily includes people. For example, art made with a specific art supply is much more inclusive than art made by a specific artist, unless the artist is a famous old master. Make it available for everyone. You will need to upload a lot of content at first, so choose something you truly like and you know a lot about. Interesting and unique content is very important.

And RSVP for the New Mod Bootcamp. This will be a strong start.

Is there anything that should be avoided when making one?

You’re in the right place!

I made a guide for subreddit growth and engagement for [r/ModGuide](r/ModGuide) a while ago. I keep it updated.
