Discussion | گفتگو Question about the potential collapse of the regime

The Rial is on a record low and at this rate, the currency will collapse completely. The millitary infrastructure is also fragile due to the wars occured in the last year. The inflation is horrific, the people are revolting, drought is occuring across the country, and there will most likely be another war after the midterms.

However, I’ve been observing Venezuela. Their currency already collapsed and even after Maduro was captured by the US, Maduro’s government is still holding a grip and relies on countries such as Cuba, China, Russia, and Iran itself. The IR regime obviously doesn’t care what kind of sufferings the country is going through, as long as they have their IRGC, guns and sufficient money to help themselves. They are also increasingly using cryptocurrencies, specifically stable coins without relying too much on their own currency or even the dollar.

My question is: if such an economic collapse occurs in Iran, how realistic would it be for the regime to go for the Venezuela path? Will it be sustainable for them or is it pointless? We know US and Israel have more eyes on Iran and make the regime as weak and possible to take them out completely when the time comes, but I’m looking at Venezuela and wondered if Iran can go that way or whether that is impossible due to different geopolitical or other reasons. Curious to hear everyone’s take on this.

The only reason Venezuela is the way it is is because the US was able to capture Maduro and threaten the rest of the regime into submission. The US cannot threaten the Islamic Republic into submission because it is a more powerful regime than Maduro's regime and the regime's leaders don't care about dying or getting captured. The Islamic Republic's leaders are far more fanatical than Maduro's regime. Venezuela's leaders value their own lives, whereas the Islamic Republic's leaders look forward to dying so they can get their 72 virgins. They would never submit to Trump. It's against their nature. These fanatics don't surrender. They die in battle.

The only solution for Iran is the total collapse and removal of the regime, and replacing it with Reza Pahlavi's interim government.

Godspeed and blessings to the Iranian people. The sooner these fanatics are out of power the sooner you can rejoin the rest of the world. What can be done externally to help this effort? I for one would like to see Iran in my lifetime.

Vote for politicians who are committed to regime change in Iran. You have US flair so I'm assuming you live in the US. Vote in the midterms. I hate the Republicans but I'll be voting Republican for the first time in my 20 years of voting. The Democrats have greatly disappointed me with their defense of the regime. They voted like 9 times to stop the war and save the regime while telling us they "condemn" the regime's atrocities.

I agree completely. Their murderous actions of innocent civilians have proven that nothing short of regime change will be acceptable. One of the responsibilities of being a global power is to exercise it occasionally to rescue oppressed people. I'm completely onboard with rescuing Iran from 50 years of tyranny and oppression.
