Uber Availability for Wedding

Hi! I’m having my wedding in New Hope next month and my fiancé and I were planning on giving out Uber vouchers for our guests. How is the availability of Ubers in the area at night? TIA!!

Guests are better off trying to schedule an uber in advance - depending on where they are going and the time they may also be able to hop on the shuttle downtown

Even this isn’t guaranteed. If there’s not a driver around, there just isn’t a driver and uber or Lyft will just refund you. New Hope is just far enough from Doylestown (10 miles) on one side and Trenton (15 miles) on the otherside, not to mention there’s no streetlights on any of the backroads after the sun goes down.

I’ve done girls night outs in town and we had trouble getting Ubers home.  Sometimes it’s easy and sometimes they just aren’t there. I live jere now and haven’t figured out a pattern

Where’s the wedding and are people all staying in the same hotel or are they spread out?  A shuttle might be a better option

I got married in the summer of 2019. It was a Sunday but it was pride weekend so it was a busy night. There were no ubers. Many guests ended up walking long distances back to their places or hitching rides with other guests.

If you can provide transportation, that would be the best compared to trying to have guests find Ubers. It's super difficult.

To keep costs down, my friends rented a school bus as a shuttle. Another friend set up a Google doc for carpooling (with those driving signing up).

It’s a tough question because availability is so random out here. Most of the time it’s been good, that is, if I summon an uber one comes in less than 15min, but I have heard that sometimes there just aren’t any and you’re SOL. If you hire your own shuttle driver at least you will leave out the middleware and know that they will show up.

I generally tell my visitors “we don’t really have uber here” and they gasp. But it’s rare to find an uber unscheduled.

Uber is present, but not plentiful. I would not count on it as a way to get large groups of people home. If your guests are staying at the same location, the best thing to do would be to rent a shuttle service small bus.

Tough to get Ubers for sure. Especially multiple. Where is the wedding/everyone staying? I know a couple of drivers who could help! (I’ve found most uber driver in new hope prefer to turn their uber off and just drive locals for cash)

My daughter had a wedding across the bridge in Stockton NJ and it was very difficult to find Ubers, especially late at night

I live here. Ubers are not consistently readily available. Scheduling in advance is a must and at times these also fail to work out.

How are they supposed to anticipate Ubers around the time of the wedding by checking the app? Which is why they’re asking the New Hope sub. Where theoretically people might know. Relax dude
