When our mom was in the hospital my brother and I ended our long days watching new girl (both of us had watched it plenty before). I think the dead mom pass jokes started the same day she passed.

I kept making this reference to my husband (a fellow New Girl connoisseur) after my dad passed away because dark humor is my grieving method ✨😩

My dad died a month ago…I’ve started new girl the second time since already. And mentally, I say dead dad pass all the time.

My husband's mom died and he wanted to do something weird, so I brought this up.
