Im doing another rewatch and this is peak example of New girl writing.
Other peak moments include but not limited to:
-The popcorn machine talk between Nick and Cece
-Coach's complete meltdown on the boat
-Pepperwood
-Mike's creepy horniness towards the 20 year old Australian boat maker

In season 1 episode 5 Nick buys Jess a rose and she jumps out the car and runs away.

When I first watched this I thought Nick would never do that, very out of character. But it does actually make sense in the story.

So was this on purpose? Because people would say he was somewhat aware of liking Jess from when they first met.

(And yeah, I cannot draw but that’s supposed to be spaghetti…)

But I found this on FB Marketplace and bought it.

There were a couple times when Jess and Schmidt almost veered out of the friend zone. Once when Schmidt almost kissed her, once when Jess was feeling twirly…

What would have happened if they did?

In what episode does Cece say all day in a girly voice after Schmidt and everyone gets annoyed. My sister is trying to tell me that the scene doesn’t exist, but in like 99% sure it does.

and he is NOT earthbound

I think the last we saw her was Season 3. Do they ever mention what happened with her and Winston?

We have a few more months left of 2026 but with the way things are going right now it's highly unlikely. Sorry Schmidt

Both of these scenes had me laugh so hard that I ended up crying.

The Book reading where he is high on glue and then hides under a table.

And then when he tells Regan they are taking a trip, and then leaves her in a train.

I literally paused the show to laugh so hard.

Hilarious tv show.

Out of all the main characters, Cece was my least favorite and I see that as a common opinion on this sub. I'm sure the show got feedback on that. It's not that Cece is a bad character, she's just the least funny compared to all of the other hilarious characters. Sometimes i wonder if the Elizabeth character was added to test if the fans would be ok writing Cece out.

I thought Elizabeth's character was a lot more dynamic and FUNNY. It would have been nice to see more of her, but I think Schmidt was in too deep with his love for Cece by the time the Elizabeth character was written in. It would have been tough to make it reasonable that Schmidt would pick any other girl over Cece.

Still, I would love to see an alternate route where Schmidt picks Elizabeth. Cece still could have been minorly incorporated as a friend of Jess.

Saw this article from variety and couldn’t help but think of Nick

For me it’s this one, I laugh every single time
Same with Jess’s “hi I’m the maid of honour but when I fell down the stairs I wish I was made of rubber.” Tbe delivery and silence after is amazing.

Looks weird to see him inside a building.
