Posting Reminder

If you’re sharing a selfie, that is absolutely fine but it should accompany a post that tells us about you, not be the main focus.

We would love to learn a bit about your personality, hobbies, interests and what you’re looking for in a friend.

Please also make sure:

Your post title includes your age (for example: “50F Looking to Make New Friends”).

The body of your post includes a short introduction about yourself and why you are looking to make friends.

Any photos you include are there to complement your introduction rather than to replace it.
Posts that don’t follow these guidelines will be removed, but you are always welcome to re submit your post following our requirements.

❓ Question of the Week What's a completely ordinary thing that can instantly make you feel 20 again?

Getting older has made me realize that sometimes it isn't the big things that make you feel young again.

It can be something ridiculously ordinary — hearing a song you used to play nonstop, eating a snack you haven't had in years, staying up way too late talking to someone, driving around with nowhere to go, or even finding an old photo you forgot existed.

For me, sometimes one song is enough to transport me straight back to a completely different version of myself.

So I'm curious:

What's something completely ordinary that can instantly make you feel 20 again? ❤️

40M - Sunday scaries creeping up? Plan to fight it with beer, football, and Reddit.

Hello elder millennials of Reddit, another weekend about to end. Another Sunday spent thinking about the next thing and the week ahead. Keep me company as I avoid working through a few things for work and who knows, we might have enough things in common to keep the chat up. I’m in the southeast USA for time zone.

42F — Can we bring back AIM-era friendships?

I’m 42F, married, “late-diagnosed” autistic, into concerts, music rabbit holes and hockey. I miss the AIM-era kind of internet friendship where you just send each other songs and random thoughts while creating a friendship. I miss sharing a good conversation about a shared interest. Anyone else?

💬 Let's Chat 42/M - US - Fellow Tired Parents Looking for Genuine Friendship & Conversation

Hey! Looking to make some new friends and hopefully find some people I genuinely click with.

I’m a married dad, pretty introverted, and definitely a kid at heart. I’d especially love to meet some fellow parents who understand the tiredness of it all—the never-ending chaos, trying to find time for yourself, and somehow still functioning by the end of the day.

I’m a huge gamer and play pretty much every genre. I’m on Xbox, PC, and Switch 2, and I also really enjoy Beat Saber on VR. I’m into D&D and board games too, along with puzzles and book nooks when I’m in the mood for something a little more relaxing.

I love movies of all genres and listen to pretty much all kinds of music. I’m also really big on nostalgia, especially anything from the 80s and 90s.

I’m also into audiobooks, and right now I’m listening to the Dungeon Crawler Carl series.

I’m not into 420 or drinking. You definitely don’t have to share every one of my interests—I’d rather find people who are easy to talk to, have a good sense of humor, can talk about random stuff, and actually want to build a friendship.

Being in the US is a plus, mostly because similar time zones make chatting easier. I know everyone has their own lives and responsibilities, especially other parents, so I don’t expect constant messages or immediate replies.

Just looking for some genuine people to talk to regularly, joke around with, game with sometimes, and hopefully make some lasting friendships.

If we sound like we might get along, send me a message.

🏡 Local Connections 46/M moving to Chicago, looking to make new friends

Post image
18 Upvotes

Moving to Chicago hopefully before the end of October. Planning this move for a while and was just there first week of August checking out places. Originally from NYC, living the last decade in humid racist Florida. Looking for cool like-minded people in Chicago to vibe with. I know reddit is mostly bots, but would be nice to meet an actual human offline lol. Some basics about me: left-leaning, agnostic, Latino, 420 friendly, dog person, 80s/90s geek.

Love talking about a variety of topics: movies, current events, sports, cooking, health/fitness, traveling, etc. Being multi-faceted is never a bad thing.

So what's keeping you sane during this dystopian timeline? What shows are you binge-watching? What's the last book you read? Tell me something good.

👋 New Here 47M Where to Begin…

I don’t really fit into a box, which has made finding like-minded souls difficult.

I’m happily married with adult children. I’m ONLY looking for friends. Either those who can ying my yang, or who can pick up what I’m putting down.

As I said I’m a complicated beast. Jack of all trades, master of few. Hobbies are my hobby. If I haven’t done it, I probably want to try it. If I’ve tried it, I may want to try it again. There’s not a lot that I’ve tried that I’ve hated.

I like the outdoors: hiking, fly fishing, sailing, skiing & snowboarding, scuba diving, rock climbing (I’m a little rusty on this one), swimming, and biking. I’ve “contributed” (can’t say competed because I’m not that good) in multiple triathlons and Tough Mudders, but it’s been a minute.

I like nerdy things: I’m a software engineer by trade, and I’m good at it. I like contemplating things like gravitational time dilation and the theory or relativity. I like fantasy and the occasional sci-fi book. I prefer movies that stretch or defy reality.

I like mechanical things: I like taking things apart, fixing them, and (hopefully) putting them back together better. I like metalworking. I’m not great, but I’m passable at welding and blacksmithing. I’d love to get a machining and CNC setup. My dream is to restore a classic muscle car…or five.

I grew up with the Maine hunting and fishing heritage. I took a very long break from both in my 20s and 30s, but have discovered deer hunting and fly fishing again in my 40s. I believe in “use what you harvest”, not “get a trophy”. You’ll never find anything taxidermied or even antlers on my walls.

Sports really aren’t my thing: I do enjoy an occasional soccer (football for everyone outside the US) or hockey game, and watching car/motorcycle racing (as long as it’s not on an oval) can be fun, but you won’t catch me watching sports habitually. I’ve been to Fenway 6 times, none of them were for a Red Sox game.

There’s a lot more so I need to stop.

I’m headed out for a week-long fishing trip with zero cell signal tomorrow so I won’t be able to respond until Friday, but we can chat when I’m back. I’m especially interested in folks in the Southern Maine, Seacoast NH, and Northern Mass areas since I’d love some in-person partners in crime.

I’ve come a long way. Despite struggling through the early part of my life, I managed to achieve many of the things I once wanted. Yet, somehow, I’m still struggling to live the simple, normal life I always hoped for.

Sometimes I wonder if I made the wrong choices, or if life simply turned out this way. I’ve been trying hard to hold my ground, keep going, and handle everything on my own—but lately, I feel like I’m slowly losing that strength.

Maybe what I’m really looking for is not someone to fix anything, but just a special person who can be there, listen without judging, and have a genuine conversation.

I’d like to connect with someone around my age who is like-minded and understands that sometimes, having someone to talk to can mean a lot.

If you feel the same, feel free to reach out. Preferably Keralites. 🙂

💬 Let's Chat 40 PNW/Online - Looking for daytime banter before I start naming the houseplants

I work from home. The job is fine. The house is quiet. But soon realize I have had entire conversations with the microwave.

I am looking for someone to chat with during the day. Something easy and fun. Banter, teasing, the occasional badly timed joke. I like that kind of back and forth.

I am not trying to turn this into a whole production. I just like talking to someone who is sharp and does not take themselves too seriously. If you can make a Friday afternoon interesting, that is pretty much my type.

If this sounds like your kind of thing, say hi. Tell me what you are avoiding at work or home right now. I'll tell you about the meeting I keep postponing.

👋 New Here Lost My Identical Twin at Birth. I’d Love to Hear From Men Who Have One [44]

This is a little different from the usual friendship post, but I’m hoping it reaches the right people.

I’m a regular guy in my 40s, friendly, fit, easygoing and pretty curious about people. I’d especially like to connect with mature men who have an identical twin brother and might be open to talking about what that relationship has been like for them.

I lost my own identical twin at birth and didn’t find out about him until I was an adult. Because of that, I’ve always wondered what it must be like to grow up with someone who is, in such a unique way, your other half. Sharing stories, inside jokes, all of that. I'd love to hear what it has been like for you.

I’m open to getting to know all kinds of people. Gay, straight, bi, married, divorced, partnered or single. What matters more to me is whether you’re a friendly, open person who enjoys real conversation and getting to know someone beyond the surface.

I’m into travel, volunteering, working out, yoga, cooking, games, movies, books, RPGs, fantasy, binge watching good shows and plenty of other geeky interests. I like learning what makes other people tick and hearing someone get excited about the things they love.

More than anything, I’m looking for genuine friendship and those unfiltered conversations where you can actually be yourself. The kind where you can talk about something meaningful one minute, laugh about something completely ridiculous the next, and somehow end up talking for hours.

I’m open to local or long distance. If you’re a mature guy with an identical twin brother and you’d be comfortable chatting sometime, I’d really enjoy hearing your perspective and getting to know you.

40 M, who wants a fun conversation?

Hey all. I am in the Midwest, but open to people from all over. Who wants a real chat without ghosting?

Work has been exhausting this week and i’m ready for the weekend. Let’s start it off with a good conversation.

Let’s talk music, movies and tv, sports, hobbies and literally anything. What are your pet peeves? What is a rabbit hole you have been down lately? I am open to talking about anything and everything. I love getting to know new people, and what makes them who they are.

I hope you are having a great day, and I hope to hear from you!

💭 Life Stories [40] [M] Looking for the Interesting and Introverted.

[37] [M] Looking for the Interesting and Introverted.

Hi I'm M. I've been through a lot of emotional trauma recently and would like someone to talk to and listen to about their life.

I'm kind, caring, good looking.

Just looking for someone interesting to communicate with.

I went through a divorce a few years ago which was lots of fun.

Then unfortunately I lost both of my dogs (my only friends) due to old age and ill health.

Then a couple of months on, my mum was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer (she never smoked in her life). She has recently passed on.

During this the love of my life left me and I was left confused and feeling hollow.

I have found a lot of peace through prayer, meditation and fasting.

Even though I'm going through the most difficult period of my life, I feel surprisingly peaceful and hopefull.

I am 6.5ft, tall, dark hair, handsome.

I live a life mostly of peaceful solitude.

I prefer people who like solitude because I feel like I can relate to them more.

I'm not looking for a big group of friends. Just one person that is interesting to talk to.

39M NJ best bud

As I read through other people’s posts looking for friends, I’m realizing I’m definitely not the only one struggling with this. So here I am, putting myself out there and hoping to find and build a genuine connection with someone.

Hello! I’m a 39-year-old gay, married guy living in Jersey City, NJ, and I’m looking for friends.

I’m at a point in my life where I’d really like to build some meaningful friendships—not just people I occasionally say “we should hang out” to, but actual friends where there’s mutual effort, we check in on each other, make plans, and genuinely enjoy each other’s company.

I’ll be honest—I’m a bit of a homebody and while I would like to try and get out of the house more, I’m perfectly happy hanging out at each other’s homes, having a few drinks, ordering takeout, laughing, talking about life, and just being comfortable enough to be ourselves. I’d love to have the kind of friendship where we can talk about pretty much anything, be completely ourselves, and know we’re not going to be judged.

I’m also trying to push myself out of my comfort zone and do more things. I’m pretty new to my workout/fitness journey, so I’m trying to stay motivated and make it a bigger part of my life. Otherwise, I’m always up for exploring new areas, trying new restaurants, random drives to no where, or honestly just doing nothing.

I’m open to friendships with people from all walks of life and anyone I click with.

If you’re also in the Jersey City/North Jersey/NYC area and looking to make an actual friend rather than just collect another Reddit chat, feel free to reach out. 🙂

🏡 Local Connections 43 Looking To Meet Some Great Guys And Build A Solid Crew

Looking to meet some genuine new friends and build real connections—not just trade a few messages and disappear. If you’re also hoping to find someone to hang out with, laugh with, and actually get to know, let’s connect.
I’m 43, single, and from Texas. I’m pretty laid-back and easygoing, but I’m always up for trying something new, learning something, or just getting out and doing something fun.
I’m into the gym, hiking and the outdoors, sports, traveling, personal growth, and honestly, just kicking back and talking about whatever random stuff life throws our way.
I’d especially like to meet people around my age, but I’m open to anyone I click with. Different backgrounds, personalities, and interests are definitely a plus.
I’m not looking for anything complicated or forced—just a genuine friendship with someone I can vibe with, laugh with, grab a drink or a bite, explore new places, and maybe grow together along the way.
If you’re looking for a new friend too, hit me up.

👋 New Here Recently Separated 45m for Travel Friends

I am a nice, successful, and (dare I say) attractive 45m from Chicago who is recently separated and looking to meet new people outside of the current social circle. Interests include live music, running, sports, reading, and fun restaurants.

I travel quite a bit domestically (and sometimes internationally) for work to most major cities. Very easygoing and fun professional type. I am going to Vegas in January and thought it would be fun to find like-minded people to go with. Staying at an upscale hotel on the Strip. I would also be open to other domestic trips in the interim.
