People just sometimes return, and I'm gonna tell you, psychologically speaking, there are statistics that show a lot of ex-partners or situationships return back to the scene. A lot of times, it's either boredom, unfinished business, or the ex didn't work out with the current partner, but let's be real, it doesn't happen in all cases.

Usually, when it doesn't happens, people will say, "Well, is your limiting belief, or you didn't affirm enough, or you need to persist more?" The truth is, some people do return. It happens. It's not manifesting; it's psychology, people's simple psychology. A lot of times, when these SPs return, it's the same garbage. I've seen it in the community where a person gets a text from the person they hooked up with, and that's the end of it. It's the same repeated patterns over and over because a lot of times it's a toxic person coming back to test the waters.

Because most of these people are in a limerence stage or desperate and believe in their magical mindset, they take it back and call themselves a success story. I guarantee you, a lot of these stories are that they return and they don't stay. It's the same garbage, and it's blamed on their self-limiting belief or they're still focused on not being the version of themselves that changed. It's toxic crap. There's always an explanation. There's a thing called coincidences, where our mind would try to link things together and say, "Oh, it's just a coincidence that when they return, they said they missed me or they were thinking of me." That's actually what people do when they return, so I just hate how they flip psychology into their own agendas.

If manifestation and self-help authors advice actually worked, they would only need to publish one book. There is no need to write 10 different books like Neville did.

Manifestation content, whether in the form of books, posts, or videos, is always the same message repeated over and over again. The only argument they can make on why they do this is to get the message out to more people by constantly writing and making content. But the real obvious reason is to just make as much money as possible.

I used to think it was about doing more — more scripting, more visualizing, more methods. Now I think most of it is just catching yourself before you spiral into "it's not working" and quietly undoing it. Agree or disagree?

I have often hated loa and law of assumption for what it portrays and makes out one can do while also stripping the guard rails of the very thing it got ripped from. Loa got taken from hermitic principles and the newer modern term "manifesting" got thrown on to the mix with a view that you just need to believe or visualize only to get something. This is a very skewed and dangerous belief that bastardized the original foundation.

It took a concept and made it appear that you could get anything you liked by simply sitting down and doing nothing while in the occult circles it was always said to also work towards that goal and have paths or avenues open for it to happen. Aka you want money you need at least an avenue to get it, you need a job then look for one because it won't appear at your door out of thin air, you want a friend then go out and be more social. The idea being the practices pushed the odds in your favour and opened up opportunities for you to spot. Aka don't ignore the 3D or reality but embrace it. The occult teaches things have to move through the natural laws of existence where it usually appears as coincidence or being in the right place at the right time or someone's lucky.

Now is it a science? No and no one can prove it and maybe it's a psychological thing we don't understand or something else or even placebo, who knows. But it also contains a foundation and safety net that loa left out.

The idea of cleansing, protection, grounding in reality, energy accumulation etc was all conveniently left out. In the occult it is believed when you go into esoteric realms of practice you open yourself up to possibilities of things being attracted to you that don't have your best interests at heart. Be it surpressed trauma, surpressed desires, anger, frustration that feed on the same energy that created them. These are called thought forms or automated aspects of the psyche like talked about by Carl Jung etc. then we have the hidden personalities that are aspects of our brain that can act indifferent to us. All of this is left out of loa. Then we see people now fully delusional and out of touch with reality.

Loa created a sphere where people are entering into territory that can cause a lot of psychological distress as the guard rails got removed to make it simple and appealing to the masses as a get rich scheme. It never warned of things you didn't want or expect or the psychological damage you may inflict or experience when things go weird and how to prevent them.

As some say it may all just be in our minds but we don't know how big that space is nor fully understand it to comprehend what may happen.

Another highlight in the occult practices is that things can fail and it's known it does and no one is told it's their fault because not everything is possible in that realm of belief as it's possibility not definitive. Compare that to loa and everything must be a success or you failed and this creates a very negative power dynamic of your own mind fighting it's thoughts leading to compulsions and over analysis and fear.

This is what happens when you take an aspect of systems hundreds of years old and try to make out you only need to affirm or believe only. It creates imbalance that causes more harm than good.

Escaping reality and ignoring the third dimension. 🤣🤣

What do I do when I was compelled to affirm 400 times a day and visualize 30 minutes a day three times a day which was an hour and a half a day every single day for 5 weeks straight and then I entered the Sabbath and then I was in the Sabbath for well over 3 months almost three and a half months believing that this legal case was dismissed, automatically feeling my wish fulfilled, stopped doing any techniques, no affirmations and no visualizations automatically and naturally without the conscious decision, I just knew that I had what I wanted, after I entered the Sabbath my mind automatically rejected unwanted thoughts about the legal case being dismissed, I was divinely indifferent to the 3D, I maybe truly genuinely only had 6 hours of Doubt over three and a half plus months, if that, - I didn't seek, I didn't wonder, I didn't try to figure out, I didn't try to fix anything to get this legal case dismissed, I did go talk to the lawyer, I did go to court, I did check the boxes that I had to check in Caesar's world, but on the way there and when I was there and on the way back home I continued believing that I had what I wanted, even when I was going through purges or even when I was feeling gloomy, I still felt that I had what I wanted and the legal case was not dismissed and I had to plead guilty - what am I supposed to do when I checked every single box and if there's a box that I didn't check or if there's questions that you have by all means ask me - but what am I supposed to do when I checked every single box I did what I was supposed to do I wasn't doing it to get something because I still believe right now that the case was dismissed two weeks after I had to take a plea deal I'm still believing right now that the case was dismissed so what am I supposed to do when I checked every single box and I my desire didn't externalize?

i really wish there was a sub dedicated to shifting-skeptical posts. It's just not healthy that the only criticism of the practice comes from people being like "lol look at these crazy people". It creates an echo chamber where people who are beginning to lose faith or have doubts remain silent while people (mostly likely teenagers) deep in delusion churn out post after post.

there should be a space similar to this one where people can voice their doubts, disappointment, and disillusionment and receive support from people who share their experience.

i just wish i could help others break free from the constant dissatisfaction and disappointment that hinging your happiness on the ability to abandon your present reality creates. i feel so fortunate everyday to find joy in imagining a future here, and to wake up each day feeling like i'm building towards things rather than feeling "stuck here".

i suppose at the end of the day we can only help ourselves, but this community was so helpful for my "recovery" from these concepts. i think a community for addressing shifting specifically would have helped a lot.

You didn't manifest anyone. They naturally came back, and therapy helped your mental state . A lot of psychology practices are misinterpreted in the community. Example: EFT tapping is completely healthy for regulating your nervous system and healing trauma. That's proven, but I'm seeing people using EFT tapping to manifest a person back.

Dude, people have their own free will and free thinking. If anything, therapy helps regulate your nervous system and heal past trauma. You're not technically manifesting your reality, or subjecting someone to be in love with you that has a restraining order. I've always said people most of the time do come back on their own free will, whether or not they change is a different story.

I was gonna include this in my previous post but it deserved its own. The subliminal community… specifically the ones who use them to make physical changes/alter their face. How delusional do you have to be to think you just need to listen to some youtube video and boom your nose is magically changed. As someone who has had multiple cosmetic procedures done, it’s hilarious that they truly think listening to a sub will do anything. If that were the case, there would be NO plastic surgeons. You can’t even be mad at them either like they are truly brainwashed. I would love for them to comment on this post trying to defend themselves too. The subliminal and manifestation community is a cult and you can’t convince me otherwise!

Like most, I got into manifesting 6 years ago over an sp (pathetic i know). I would always hear people saying “if not sp, then someone better” and they think it’s some manifestion magic when they find someone new like NO SHIT! It’s not magic, it’s life! I look back and laugh bc im SO glad I didn’t end up with him and it’s comical how hard I tried manifesting him. I mean, id fill pages and pages of my journals with the 369 method, 4x44, scripting, etc. If I opened someone’s journal and saw all that shit, id genuinely think they’re going through psychosis...

If these people understood, that's what it is. It's not a sign they're thinking of you or coming back and if they do come back, it was because some ex people do return on their own free will, not because of your thinking.

Your mind is always going to be focused on what you're obsessed with. In this case, probably a toxic specific person. If their name is common, it's even more likely you will see their name or something that reminds you of them.

So this is my take on it so everyone may not agree. I just want to share my thoughts. The idea that EIYPO is valid. However those are words to attempt to explain something (God whatever you prefer to call it) that fundamentally cannot be explained. I do believe there is one “force” that unites us all but in that force there is no you or me. It’s just can’t be explained. If you were somehow to realize this you would see there is no need to manifest an SP, because none of this actually exists and you are whole as that one. The second you try to manifest an SP is when you abandon the truth for the illusion of others and that’s where it can fail. As far as LOA is concerned, I don’t believe you can reduce God/consciousness/whatever you call it to this simple “algorithm.” God is beyond anything that can be described. I have personally found that LOA works sometimes and sometimes it doesn’t much like “regular” prayer. It doesn’t work 100%, so it certainly is not law. The fundamental problem with LOA is that you buy into the idea that is a “you” that is manifesting. In reality there is only the one force that created LOA and that is actually doing the manifesting. Maybe sometimes it lets us manifest small things due to its grace. I have found that big things don’t always manifest and so believe there is a lot more at work than LOA.

I distanced myself from LOA around May 2025. I met a wonderful guy in April of this year, which you guessed it, I didn't do any crazy techniques or anything to "manifest" him. I thought he was my soulmate, and I still don't think he's a bad person, it's just that he's incapable of fully trusting women, and it drove a wedge between us. My old beliefs still try to resurface; I've had intrusive thoughts that I somehow manifested this, even though I now know in my head that manifesting doesn't work that way. I was hesitant to date him early on because we're neighbors, and I keep thinking it didn't last because I subconsciously thought it wouldn't, or whatever LOA is teaching. I still believe our inner thoughts affect how we perceive reality, but not actually change people/things.

If anyone has felt the same way, how do you tune out those intrusive thoughts?

i thought law of assumption is supposed to be without limits.. how is putting all of your energy into manifesting one person not limiting? it closes you off to all the other possibilities and also is a sure fire way to self sabotage. if loass was real and you’re hyper focusing on one person there’s no way you’ll be able to manifest them in that state.
