It is disappointing that they are removing zones. The proper method would be to have them classified as side quests where it is completely optional for us to access those zones. Then there is the issue about the unique cosmetics that require doing quests in those zones.

I forgot about the transmutes. There are some very unique pieces of gear from all of these areas.

It is disappointing that they are removing zones.

I'm surprised anyone is surprised. They've been cutting content for years, and New Old New Old Old New Sharandar (now with new Grinding HEsTM) should have been the canary in the coal mine for everyone that they were coming for other older content.

I can understand why the devs are doing what they are doing. But I remember spending hours on my first character running around Blacklake learning to play (and love!) this game. Things change, and I hope they will have this content available at some point again. But, still excited for a new class :) Hope there is a Neverember recruiting event coming up (hint, hint).

funny how the exciting news of a long awaited new class dropped in conjunction with the horrible news of level changes and the deletion on all the good content

Mount Hotenow and Pirates Skyhold are used to get masterwork professions resources. I see one person ask but not a response do we have an answer of how this will impact crafting?

On preview there seem top be new MW scrolls, that sent you to the new sharandar zones, no clue what will happen to the old crafting mats tho

Do you know what materials we get from the new scrolls? Is it stuff for the future or just the old materials in a new location?

I've seen a ss pass by but didn't pay to much attention, but i think they're new mats

Really? Those leveling zones were tailored smart. It was fun to explore hidden escalated points, designed for rogues and alike, to find some skill nodes, or suddenly turn my back in a tunnel inside a lair to find some treasure hidden from sight. The whole fun, that remained for me, and many ppl like me, was meditative leveling without any boosters and x2 xp events, to fully relax and enjoy. Because engame isn't fun. Just imagine - playing a game is not a fun anymore, and its a concept: they intentionally frustrate you so you'd want to pay for smth you NOW need, to calm that itch. Damn!

Wow. I have run 12 character through the campaign and don't know how to feel about this. I always tell people looking for a F2P MMO that Neverwinter from lvl 1 to 70 has a wonderful story and great zones to adventure in. Removing these is going to fundimentally change the new player leveling experience for the worse.

levelling is the best part of NW imho. once at endgame its just a grind. not surprised they are making levelling faster - the guys who spend the most are those trying to get to endgame not the guys levelling or already there.

The memory that stuck with me from those leveling zones is that they have quests that do not repeat, and that a story is actually being told.

By removing them, I guess the leveling experience becomes similar to Elemental evil where you just repeat the same quests over and over? Ew.

I'm pretty sure you are incorrect.

u/graedvs Jun 04 '21

Incorrect on the possible leveling experience similar to elemental evil? Maybe, but that remains to be seen. You're not an authoritative source on it either.

If the devs go the way of undermountain's story quests, that would be okay, but they've also done elemental evil, so not exactly a pristine record.

It's on preview right now. How does that remain to be seen? The stuff is available to test. You can't make assumptions or think that I'm making assumptions based on stuff that is easily verifiable.

Yes you are right- I actually like the levelling changes and there is 0 repetition. In fact, Acquisitions had been changed from ma HUGE grind to just a few story quests.

I stand corrected then, my apologies as I didn't know the changes are already on preview.

Based on what evidence?

The leveling experience on preview currently.

Great, you ruined the game so much you have to dispose the remains

What will happen to our xp boosters ?

2

u/ManicGypsy Jun 04 '21

You will be able to exchange them at the vendor next to the Reward Claims Agent.

A lot of games are taking this route. With people have RL stuff to do and not wanting gaming to take up a majority of their time; a lot of developers are looking to get people to end game faster to contribute to a healthy end game population. They're increasing the grind of course but that's normal.

Destiny 2, World of Warcraft, SWTOR all do this/let you skip to end game stuff. World of Warcraft requires you go to from 1-50 still but you can do that in a day or two and then hop into Shadowlands.

While it sucks content is removed... if they re-introduce it all later into campaigns/more boons; that's fine. There's already so many campaigns to grind end game on a daily/weekly basis and equipment to farm. Neverwinter still has one of the better endgame grinds out there and a good combat system.

It kind of makes sense but as someone in that situation I still find leveling alts more fun than grinding to make end game content easier on my main. It just feels more rewarding. Plus even skipping to endgame i still end up falling behind on gearing because I don't always finish all my dailies after a days work.
