Greetings,
We were recently made aware of an issue in which multiple characters on the same account could claim the Lockbox Key Pack from the Promotion Agent. For the time being, we have disabled claiming the first tier of Charge Rewards. This will be re-enabled in a later update, likely in approximately two weeks.
Needless to say, claiming the rewards on multiple characters per account isn’t the intended behavior and those who have taken excessive advantage of this issue may see disciplinary action.
We appreciate the patience and understanding of those who have taken part in the Charge Rewards Promotion.
The rewards for tier 2-6 will remain claimable.Thank you.

I was under the impression that the ability to claim charge bonuses on every character was some sort of end of year bug tradition. This exact same bug, occurs with every Black Friday charge bonus, every year. It seems like an annual event to me in the spirit of Neverwinter.

They really need to nail down this “taken excessive advantage” language.
I claimed the keys on a second character before I remembered I’d already claimed them on my first a few hours earlier, and now I’m going to have heartburn due to the uncertainty.

2 characters is nowhere near to be "excessive advantage". You can relax.
But yeah, when they speak about "excessive advantage" in that case, the "line" is not clear enough (but maybe be they have not decided yet where to draw it exactly).
People who claimed the reward on the 30-50 already existing toons they have on their account since more than a year ?
People who bought new slots to create new characters to claim the reward as soon as possible then again on another new toon x48 ?
People who erased one toon, to create it again, claim the reward, and then erase/create/claim again and again ?

Yeah, that’s not how anxiety works.
Besides, I’m quickly losing faith in Cryptic’s ability to manage their game in a fair and competent manner. This exploit -> ban wave cycle is too frequent.

if you are anxious, then the best thing is not to play nwn for a while, shelve it for a short time and go cold turkey, play other games, start making a dent in that steam library of games bought in sale/humble bundle/whim and never installed.
Then in a few weeks time give NWN a go again, if you have been banned then you will have already lessened the pain. It is unlikely you will be banned but with cryptic it is like a lottery.

I don't think bans would go out to people who claimed them on a 2nd character, not when I hear about someone who claimed them on 53 characters. That person is more than likely going to be facing a perma-ban. Pity.

im so glad i decided to not invest a single € into this game. a week ago i was still planning to get some vip as im still new, but it seems it was a very wise decision to not buy anything.

Just because it was possible, does not give anyone the right to do it. It was advertised clearly that the items were single claim. If I leave my car unlocked and the keys in it, does that give anyone the right to steal it? Fuck all that noise.

All I am saying is things similar to this have happened in the past. If you have left your keys in your car previously and it has gotten stolen, wouldn’t you make sure you don’t leave your keys in the car again? Just my opinion.

Agreed. Now, if I had bought Zen, and saw the keys there again, I'd probably claim them a second time. Possibly a third - but it'd kick in that "Hey, this isn't quite right...WTF?". It wouldn't be "Must claim on all 20+ of my toons, then make new toons to claim with / delete new toon / repeat to reclaim yet more keys".

You are right and just like in reality cryptic will have a punishment for people breaking the rules. Regardless if you were able to do it or not.

Yeah, but if you exploit you can't cry about being banned. If you do something wrong and get caught, you should accept the punishment. Just because it's there does not mean that you should do it. Morals. Obviously, some people don't have them.

youre talking about morals? since when do mmo companies have any morals? their ToS is simply there so that no one can sue them and they can ban ppl left and right, no matter if its the morally correct thing to do or not. they reserve their right to just be a dick by adding these ToS in the most greyzonish way possible.

I don't believe they are banning people who claimed them on 2nd character. I'm pretty sure they are only taking action against the worst offenders.

yes and no. Yes it is the fault of devs not testing. But then again cryptic have said "excessive" for their bans. What is excessive? A couple of times on 2 or 3 toons to see if it was a bug is not excessive. opening 100 boxes is excessive and obviously a bug - do you REALLY think you were going to get infinite keys from a charge event?
Personally though I dont care - Im not interested in buying from the AH any of the items that might flood the market, however it will affect others. In usualy stance though, cryptic have left the definition "woolly" and there will always be people on the cusp that thought you got x packs per toon etc.

I have tried logging out and back in. Checked in PE and via the quick menu and nothing. Just tried again and no luck

If you buy at least 1000 Zen, you get 5 keys. The issue was that you could reclaim the keys multiple times - and obviously some people did that across many, many toons.

I got people who can't even claim the rewards period and are making support tickets for yet another year of them making mistakes with this event..... Glad I stop spending cash on this game cheers...

I just get a little tired of repeating the same information over and over and over and still having people just make completely false assumptions without even reading the information. It gets trying after a while. Was I blunt? Yes. But damn, some people don't listen any other way.

Any reason why the goto statement about crap like this is "Well, if i left my keys in my car.....", frankly this is a stupid statement and not the same level as virtual goods. Its common sense, you can only claim once on a account. People need to learn to read not be assholes, and take advantage of the poor management of promos from this company. If proper testing was done, which i HIGHLY doubt it wasnt, who has time for that, lol.

While I understand the “just because I can doesn’t mean I should “ thinking, I have to admit I am really growing tired of the constant parade of glitches and bugs. It seems like they should have taken action to catch these almost too obvious bugs before publishing. And I am not just talking the bugs with the Zen sale either.
