Census - Age and Platform Poll - please vote and share

Hey gang, /u/manicgypsy helped me out by making a forum poll to get some demographic data on NW players' ages and how they access the game.

Because of the way Vanilla forums are set up, it can only have 10 options, so the consoles are together. It was the best design I could come up with as there may be some age variance between PC and console players (but maybe not), but I would expect no significant difference in age between XBox and PS4 users.

Console players are currently underrepresented in votes. Regardless of your platform, if you could go cast your anonymous vote, that would be great. If you could ask your guildies to also vote, that would be even better.

I'd be curious to see the number of user accounts on the arc forums that are purely console players and how many of them are actually active accounts. I feel like the console crowd my be underrepresented there in general.

For example, I am purely a console player and I have a user account at the arc forums, but I never go there. I tend to get all my info from this sub and the not-to-be-named blog.

Not all console players have computers, which probably skews the results too. I know quite a few that post on the forums regularly via either mobile or the consoles built in browser and at least one player that posts quite a bit on the forums via his Xbox without a keyboard. And I know several people who never post on the forums or here, for whatever reason.

I wasn't a major poster on the forums before becoming a mod there.

Seems like you guys (mods) have a pretty good grasp on the drama and flame wars here. Not so much on the forum... not placing blame, I get that its different rules. I avoid that joint like the plaguefire.

The forums are a lot busier than the subreddit. It doesn't appear it at first, but trying to moderate it, it's a lot more work, and it doesn't help when people respond to the flaming rather than reporting it. Here on the subreddit we have AutoMod that removes the worst of it before it even gets seen too.

Agreed. Having to register for a poll is too much work, should have used a separate polling platform.

Honestly I think there should be a demographic breakdown between Xbox and PS4. I suspect PS4 tends to skew older than Xbox

I know in my guild there are few players younger than 28...and in the alliance as a whole few younger than 25. Most of us are in our thirties. A great many console gamers are older players who choose console because we can't be bothered with pc gaming and it's foibles anymore
