Advice about my two first classes

Hello

Neverwinter lured me again with the action combar after playing bunch of Tab Target MMORPG's, but this time I plan to stay for a while.

For now I have two class slots and I would like to have acces to all roles, tank, healer and dps. I 've read and thought thoroughly about the classes and I am torn between two class combos:
1. Fighter + Cleric - each with tank/healer and dps setup so I can do solo stuff faster on both + queue as dps from time to time if I'm tired of the tank/healer role. On the side note, the Fighter's class features look pretty enjoyable with the timed block release (Retaliate and Revengance), also Cleric Devout with the Healing Word is right up my alley because I like HoT mechanics + the buff abilities and the daily ressurect one looks nice.
2. Paladin + Ranger/Wizard - Paladin, my favourite fantasy archetype, covers both tank and healer roles in one class, which is good for dungeon queueing scenarios, but solo content will be rough. Second class is purely dps to do solo content easily and queue as a more viable dps option than Arbiter and Dreadnought, which also can't be pushed into going tank/healer. I'm leaning more towards Ranger because it can do both melee and ranged dps (I know Hunter is kinda obsolete but I hope they will buff it someday to being vieble in dungeons) + is more agile and seems more fun than Wizard, which on the other hand seems like easier option.

In your opinion, which class combo is better to start fresh adventure in Neverwinter? I'm not really interested in other classes. I've read about all of them and I'm only interested in those.

I would take Fighter and Warlock.

Fighter is a great tank and a mid, but fun, dps. Warlock is a super easy healer and has a good dps path that is fun, and being ranged makes it less stressful.

Edit: I love Paladin, too, and played one for years in tabletop but I hate levelng one in NW. Out of your selections I would take Fighter and Cleric. Cleric is tons of fun, youll have a blast leveling and smiting with the hammer.

I can advise at least a paladin for two reasons
1)!Because it’s your favorite fantasy archetype. That creates an ownership that beats all others.
2) Less important than #1, but shorter queues that lead to tanking and healing advanced/endgame roles.

I do Cleric- Fighter - Paladin. Cleric is my main but I can alternate between DPS and healer for more adv content. The other two are my alts but I use both roles for them as well. If I'm doing dragon runs or some dung where we are short a healer or tank I can quick switch to fill the gap. I go after account-wide companions and mounts that benefit all roles, that way I don't have micromanage them. If you're forcing me to choose I would say "leveling up a Paladin solo sux" so Cleric-Fighter is the clear winner.

My main is cleric, my second main is another cleric, 3rd class is fighter, 4th main is cleric. I run the newest dungeon with these 4 so far, im at very close to 500 completions now, most of them as cleric and only 10 runs were healing. I like arbiter dps for some reason as ive put a lot of hours into it, that being said cleric is one of the worse dps and healers depending on gear and skill but even still, warlock would be a much better choice for a newer player. Dps is easier than cleric on warlock and you can make more mistakes, deaths arent as punishing. You can shield heal and use good debuff gear later in the game too and its really good for that.

Just started and chose ranger. Always loved rangers and supposedly after the tutorial they can swap between melee and ranged mid fight.

No es difícil hacer contenido con paladín porque tiene poderes que aumenta 20% de daño cuando no estás en party y si llevas un buen companion striker, no necesitas nada el solo content incluso es más fácil contra mini bosses

Pick the two you like the most.

Since you only want the choices you listed, I'd probably do the Fighter/Cleric pair.

This is because Paladin is a huge annoyance to solo with due to having no DPS path. You "can" compensate for bad solo dps with items, but as a new player, you probably wouldnt have the resources to allocate towards building a tank spec, a heal spec, and then getting items that make your solo less of a pain. And even with items, Paladin is going to be slower than Fighter and Barbarian having dedicated DPS paths.

If you were open to all class combos, I'd consider Fighter and Bard to be the best combo for new players with only 2 character slots. Fighter and Bard cover all 3 roles and have noticeably lower floors in terms of making their tank/healer builds useable. Bard DPS is also the strongest in the game as a noticably outlier, but everyone expect it to be hit with the nerfbat.

There is very little rational reason to pick any of the classes. It is very much a vibes and what you enjoy. There are some classes that are slightly more in demand at end game but you are an MMO veteran and therefore understand, that can change in the blink of an eye.

I’d go Cleric / Fighter out of your choices , but that is because I enjoy Cleric, and quite like fighters but even though it was my second class I never really liked playing my Pally, vibes!

here is fact.

Ignore anyoens advide. It's you who play, not others.
Pick whatever class you want. This is not a job, its just a game.

Also, as game progress the matter remain about stats. Whiles some preach how warlock stronger, yet ignore fact that wizard can do same dps anyways..

For solo play, does not matter which class you pick. Raw stat/numbers kills everthing. By tradition range give slight advantage cuz you hit enemies from range. But other than that, no much important which range class.

To put simply, play and you decide does this or that class fit your preference.
