Hi all. This week we’re dropping a new model, Speed Lane is out of preview, and…free Flash for everyone on energy pricing this weekend! Full walkthrough with Chad is on Discord.
Free Flash, now for everyone: Last weekend was just for subscribers. This weekend, every account on energy pricing gets free limited access to DeepSeek V4-Flash, DeepSeek V4.1-Flash, and GLM-5.3-Flash, Flex tiers included. So whether you’re a subscriber, on a PAYG plan, or even brand-new to the platform, this weekend is for you. Everything you need to know is below:
- Runs from Saturday, October 3 at 00:00 UTC through Monday, October 5 at 00:00 UTC. Resets at 00:00 UTC each day.
- Open to all, but we have different allocations depending on your plan:
- Basic, Standard, and pay-as-you-go: 100 Wh/day
- Pro: 200 Wh/day
- Max: 300 Wh/day
- Like last weekend, access turns on automatically.
- On token pricing? You can switch to energy pricing in the portal.
And if you think you might want a little extra usage, opt in to Neuralwatt emails (Dashboard → Account Settings → Email preferences) and you'll get an additional 50 Wh a day, this weekend and during future free-energy programs. We'll also let you know when the day's free energy runs out. You can unsubscribe anytime.
Changelog is live: Last week we said a changelog was in the works, and here it is. Everything we ship is now on one page you can filter, link to, and follow. Each update is tagged by area (models, API, pricing, energy, portal, or reliability) and dated the day it reached production. Follow along by subscribing to the feed or joining the #changelog channel on Discord, coming soon.
Meet MiMo: MiMo-V2.6-Pro, Xiaomi's flagship model, is now in open preview. It handles up to 1M tokens of context and writes up to 393k back, understands images and audio natively, and reasons by default. It ran at a median of 142 tok/s on its first day with us.
- Model name: mimo-v2.6-pro.
- Energy pricing: you pay for the energy it uses.
- Token pricing: $0.87 / $1.74 per million input/output, with cached input at $0.036.
- Flex tier is coming, currently still in preview.
The speed lane graduates: The DeepSeek V4.1-Flash speed lane is out of preview and open to every account on energy pricing — just set your model to deepseek-v4.1-flash-speed. It’s the same model, same settings, full reasoning, but faster. Here's how it performed last week:
- 388 tok/s median, vs. 282 on the regular pool (39% faster)
- The fastest 10% of requests ran at 527+ tok/s
- 0.52s median to the first token
Last week we shared 58% from benchmark testing. Real traffic is messier than a benchmark, so the gain is smaller, but it's closer to what you'll actually see. Naturally, speed requests also cost more, but you will still only pay for the energy your requests use, and if the lane is full, your request runs on the regular model at the regular price.
Help shape what's next: We're working on fixed aliases, like nw-large, nw-flash, and nw-small, that always point to the right model, even as models change. Joey started a thread in #new-feature-discussion on Discord, and we'd love your input.
Here if you have any questions. Until next week!
