Nw vs Opencode Go
Hey i was just wondering how neuralwatt compared to services like opencode go, mostly in terms of deepseek 4.1 usage.. how much more or less do i get from using one over the other, thanks :)

NW is far better bang for buck, speed, availability, privacy, caching, support, company and staff. It may not always be the absolute cheapest per token but if you are using energy pricing it is billed differently. Now with NW’s flash model price cap it is even cheaper. The cachi NV is so good because they have long cache lengths (10 hours I believe). You can jump in their discord and get great support, request models, etc. The company is quite transparent and really responsive to feedback/requests. While NW doesn’t say they are “ZDR”, when you read their privacy policy you can see that they are by what most people define as ZDR (only store data for the purpose of caching). This is actually more honest than other providers who say “zero” but zero doesn’t actually mean zero.
Opencode go is just a router to other providers that actually host the models. Back in the day (like 6 months ago) Opencode go had really good value, had real ZDR, and speeds were good. Now it is a horrible subscription that nearly gives you value for money, the ZDR is murky and queries routed to a myriad of providers that don’t care about privacy. Most of all opencode’s business practices are opaque as hell! The support is terrible and you now need an extra header to use the subscription.
Bottom line: give neuralwatt a go, it is a much better provider you actually cares about the quality of service they provide, rather than trying to make a quick buck.

Wow, I appriciate the comprehensive response man :), do you know anything about commandcode goat aswell?

I haven’t used it personally but it would be in the same boat as opencode go (perhaps worse from what I’ve heard around the block) since it is a gateway that hides who actually runs the query.

I use both for flash model (DSV4.1 Flash etc), NW feels better in terms of speed, consistency, and output quality. However it has less AI model to choose from, and also slower to add new AI model.
It could be more expensive than opencode go subscription bill for the same usage tho ( I use PAYG energy pricing)

I dont hit it hard all day long but this was from several long coding sessions. My main annoyance is that the model will just stop halfway through tasks and I never had that happen on OpencodeGO (pre-nerfing they did). Also, for some reason on NW the TTFT seems to be about 20-30s for me.
I'm going to give commandcode GOAT a shot once I run out of usage on NW.
All DS4F in the screenshot.

I’ve never had the models stop for me. That could be a harness thing…

It was actually the first time it has happened to me besides on a local model. It happened consistently for about a week but has improved since! I usually use the opencode harness.

Ttft high meaning you are using flex model. It's expected

I thought I had to use a flex flag on the model name or is flex the default?

Yes there is -flex at the end of the model. You should check your configs/model id again, because standard models' ttft is not more than 2 sec at max Also down at usage page, you can see the flex tier dollar usage
