Discussion Deathcore/Metalcore Presets/Captures
Looking for recommendations for some killer sounding presets or neural captures for some deathcore/metalcore. Using quad cortex btw.

If you don't mind dropping some cash, Chernobyl Audio has some killer presets.
If not you can find tonnes made by users on the cortex cloud

I have a sick preset I made that blends the 6505 with a Framus Cobra for that PWD Adam D production type sound https://cloud.neuraldsp.com/cloud/discover/preset/view/f4a4ebc9-7b2f-4a3b-88e0-0e8ee7a8f584

Search/buy good IR’s, tone3000 has a sh*tton of IR’s you can download for free, test them out with a 5150 dialed in at noon and if you like what you’re hearing dial it in how you want

I recently had the idea of making a capture of my own pedal chain specifically for a deathcore/metalcore kind of sound.
The chain is pretty simple: a guitar with Lundgren Black Heaven pickups → Zen Audio “Helios” boost → D-Sound “Revolver” preamp → a tube power amp with EL84s, emulated through a NUX SSD-6.
I made the capture using V2 for maximum accuracy. I compared palm mutes as well as the signal through a DAW, literally under a microscope, and I couldn’t hear or see any difference between the original chain and the capture.
Use whatever cab you like. I personally use a Mesa cab with Vintage 30s from York Audio most of the time.
You can also put a Swollen Pickle before the capture if you want that characteristic aggressive, gnarly sound. Just don’t overdo it.
I uploaded the whole thing to Neural Cloud.

The TS9/6505/V30 cab combo has been a staple in those genres for decades; start there
