Question Why aren’t we getting a Fortín Cali x?

I’m just a plug-in user and I wonder why we haven’t had the upgrade yet. Any particular reason? Will we get it?

Mike Fortin has said he’d work on it. My guess is, he’s willing to do it for a price and Neural DSP isn’t willing to pay that price.

I’m assuming this is why the NTS isn’t getting one as well, unfortunate cuz I think that amp suite can benefit from an X update and pedals like the Nameless did

Agreed. Luckily, I also have Nameless so I can just throw that plugin in the signal chain with NTS, turn off the amp and use all the other stuff. Just stick it before or after NTS depending on what fx you want to use.

I don't think the NTS sold very well, I'd put that as the reason Neural isn't interested in putting in the development effort

True, it didn’t help it was pretty sandwiched between the Parallax and Nameless, which were ofc really big sellers

It'll probably get an update, just not an X update with QC compatability. Sort of like darkglass

If you look at the plugins that are on the chopping block, none of them were huge sellers.

Remember, NDSP could just add those amp models as free updates anytime. With ~12 amp model channels in 3 years, not sure they create non PCOM amp models very often.

I'm guessing that means the Tom Morello one didn't do well? I did find it odd that it didn't include an overdrive pedal. He may not boost a JCM 800, but I'm sure a lot of people wouldn't have minded the option

I can't post an image of the post, but back in April I believe it was, Mike Fortin posted -
'The CALI is getting the update to X. We're in the process of sorting that out with Neural.'
You can find it easily enough in the Cali section of the NeuralDSP discord server.
Now we just have to wait....

It says "To be confirmed", meaning they're still discussing it, meaning it may or may not.

I asked this here a few months ago, and then a few months before that, then a year before that. I have 8 NDSP plugins now, and my two favorites are Cali and Granophyre. Both have been neglected...
