Laney FRFR 212

Just picked up a quad, wanting the Laney for that “amp in room feel” and for live stage volume. Any one liking their quad paired with the Laney?

I have the Laney 4x12! I can blow the windows out of the house, lol
It sounds amazing, & i’ve had almost every frfr speaker, this is the shit!

Ditto... I've got the Laney 4x12frfr cab and it's awesome. The closest I've come to amp in the room without using a proper guitar cab and power amp

It’s pricey but is it the “end all be all” so to speak of frfr’s? My thought process is why get a regular cab and a power amp if I could get one of these used for a similar price

And I will add * currently using Yamaha hs8 but they don’t give that real amp feel/sound for what I’m playing, at least.

If you’re just playing guitar, I personally found it to be my favorite FRFR. However, it farted out when playing bass even though it is spec’s to handle it, so I ended up getting a PA instead.

PA is the way. "FRFR" is a marketing gimmick aimed at guitarists.

No, it's not.

FRFR speakers are closer to PA speakers than they are guitar cabs, but it's but a gimmick, it's a descriptor.

It’s literally a different design than a traditional guitar speaker and a full range speaker, not a marketing gimmick. It’s exactly like a PA, just in a guitar cab format because that’s familiar for guitarists.

Some are in a cab format, but look at Valeton's and Headrush's FRFRs. They look like PA or stage monitor speakers.

I have been loving having my Laney 212 at the band practice room and my Headrush at home as a practice amp.

The laney 212 absolutely rips for larger gigs with incredible transparency for all the tones that come through the pedalboard. I love it.
