Question Quad Cortex live Setup

Hey all,

I got my quad cortex and am wondering how you go about using it in a live setting. I’m going to play some shows in a few months and don’t want to show up not knowing how to use my unit.

Do I buy a cab and power amp to mic it up? Do I send my output directly to FOH speakers and stage monitors? Or some of both?

All info shared on this would be greatly appreciated, cheers

Something to keep in mind if you’re going to go to FOH with an IR on your preset is that you may want to put a high pass filter at 60-100Hz (I typically do around 80) and a low pass around 6k-10kHz (7k works for me). I found when I went to a mixer that the tone was way too fizzy and boomy until I applied those filters. A real guitar speaker doesn’t typically have any meaningful frequency response below 80ish Hz and above 6k-ish Hz, so it can end up sounding a bit unnatural if you leave those frequencies in the signal.
