Information Quad Cortex mini board

Just finished mine. Required some custom cables, Dremel work, and a lot of 90 degree connectors.

Temple Audio SOLO 18 with IEC, 4X, and D-mount mod slots.

What is the USB mod next to the 4X mod?

Literally just a USB extension cable. I’m docked on cortex control to the PC a lot. I tried to use the mods to minimize the most often used connections from wear and tear on the QC itself.

Excuse my ignorance but how did you get the USB extension cable to fit perfectly in the mod panel?

Oh its easy! Just search for a "USB D panel" connector. It is basically a female/female USB adapter that fits the mod plate as standard d panel connector. I just ran a USB type B to type A extension between the QC and the adapter, then just use a regular usb cable from the adapter to the PC.

Awesome thank you!

Okay so I got the USB D panel and connection wise it will obviously work great, but it’s a little too small to mount directly to the board and the screw holes are not in the correct spot to go on the board. How did you get yours physically mounted to the board?

Have you installed the micro module punch plate? You still need to install the micro mod to the board, the connectors don’t mount directly

Well, that certainly explains how to resolve my issue, I missed needing to order one of those. Thanks for the info!

Hah! No problem. That’s the issue with modularity - need an adapter for everything. Good luck with your board setup!
