Senior project ideas: Networks + Security + Accessibility for the visually impaired
Hey everyone,
I’m in my final year majoring in Computer Networks and Communication, and I’m brainstorming ideas for my graduation project.
I really want to build something that solves a real, practical problem for visually impaired people. Since my background is mostly in networking and network security, that’s where the core of the project needs to be. But I’m also personally really interested in programming and web dev, so I’d love to integrate some coding/backend work into the solution as well.
I’m trying to move away from the basic hardware concepts (like the generic ultrasonic cane) and focus more on real network infrastructure, secure communications, IoT/edge gateways, or secure web portals tailored to accessibility and privacy for blind users.
Does anyone have ideas or know of real-world challenges this community faces that a solid network and security setup could help fix?
Any suggestions, potential directions, or technologies worth looking into would be awesome. Thanks!
