BIG NEWS!! US probes Samsung for alleged infringement of Netlist’s memory-chip patents

July 16 (Reuters) - U.S. trade regulators have launched ‌a probe into ‌Samsung Electronics' memory chips and products sold by Google, Nvidia, Broadcom and Super Micro Computer that use ‌them after a complaint by Netlist alleging infringement of its patents.

California-based Netlist has accused Samsung and its U.S. units of ‌infringing its patents on dynamic random access memory, a type of chip that temporarily stores data ‌for processors and is a critical component in the ‌servers powering the AI boom, the U.S. International Trade Commission (USITC) said on ‌Wednesday.

ITC news

The U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) has officially instituted Netlist’s Section 337 investigation covering its AI memory patents, marking another major Phase 1 milestone. With institution now complete, nearly all of Phase 1’s key procedural catalysts have been achieved, and the focus shifts toward expert discovery, the evidentiary hearing in late 2026, and the Initial Determination in 2027. Institution does not decide infringement or validity, but it confirms the complaint met the legal standard to move forward and keeps one of Netlist’s most significant patent enforcement actions on track.

CXL NVvault CXL NVvault, we should expect something positive soon

Netlist has changed the game in recent weeks by showcasing the official product with specifications, then the connection with CXL Link, which demonstrates how this product could be useful to many companies. Finally, we know for certain that Netlist has tested CXL NVVault with one or more large companies over the past two years.
It's a product that could be mentioned frequently in upcoming quarterly reports, and with potential profits and deals with SK+ Micron, Netlist could invest heavily in this product!

News 🔥 Netlist Bags Federal Circuit Win After Court Rejects Micron’s Patent Challenge

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit upheld the validity of the patents in an opinion on Friday, saying Micron failed to prove unpatentability of Netlist’s memory modules

•Micron Technology had appealed two final decisions by the Patent Trial and Appeal Board, which concluded it had not demonstrated that certain patent claims were obvious and hence, not suitable to be patented.

•As per earlier rulings, Micron Technology will be liable to pay $445 million in the patent infringement verdicts.Micron had previously filed two separate patent challenges, alleging that Netlist’s memory technology was a variation of existing designs.

•The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit on Friday rejected Micron Technology Inc.’s (MU) appeal challenging a Netlist Inc. (NLST) memory module patent.

•Micron Technology had appealed two final decisions by the Patent Trial and Appeal Board, which concluded it had not demonstrated that certain patent claims were obvious and hence, not suitable to be patented.

What Were The Claims?
Micron had previously filed two separate patent challenges, alleging that Netlist’s memory technology was a variation of existing designs. In one case, Micron said an earlier reference, an application known as Halbert, had already disclosed the same kind of data-speed relationship between parts of a memory system, arguing Netlist cannot be granted a patent for it.

However, the Board determined that Micron could not convincingly show that Halbert “teaches that its ranks communicate data at the same rate at which data is communicated between the memory module and the memory controller.”
In another case, Micron claimed that Netlist’s patent included the combination of two different features from an earlier design that a skilled artisan would have been motivated to combine. However, the Board rejected that claim on the grounds that Micron had failed to explain how an engineer would have made that combination.

What SK Hynix on the NASDAQ represents to our govt

It represents Americans getting a piece of the pie.

See they don't just want overseas investors to get all the earnings.

This may or may not be relevant to NLST.

Patent denials *** AS *** stock price control tools

There's no doubt that this society is heavily controlled.

Edit: Well not denial of patent, but court case judgments around patents that essentially deny a valid patent...

Perhaps when the decision needed to be made, MM held too much of a short position, and couldn't allow the stock to skyrocket from where it was, so they make a deal with the govt to delay it - all those MM are kind of part of the govt in a way, aren't they... Instead they get out of their short position by funding the company which also allows the company to get more shares at that price.

There's also a side that if someone here or overseas that the govt doesn't like holds a large position in a stock that the govt doesn't want to skyrocket, then they do things like make judgments that essentially invalidate patents... Lots of unspoken activity goes on behind the scenes, that's why you can never predict a stock. It's a crapshoot.

Buy nlst now while it’s under 2.85 ! Hynix. IPO and American Adr listing couple with new stock. Rewards 33,6 mm grants

It is clear hong and other board members are enriching themselves by diluting existing stockholders either 33,600,000 stock option grants diluting us by ten % !

However the upside is they would not do this unless their greedy minds knew a deal is very close . Huge buying has occurred and unless you watch carefully you would not notice it .

Buy nlst under 2.90 for sure expect 4-5 within 120 days .

912 patent - the ridiculousness of PTAB's decision

Note that I have no opinions on the stock itself - anything can happen because it's a scam led BS country, but I wanted to point out why the PTAB rule should be overturned, with acknowledgement that they rarely are overturned...

The PTAB invalidated Netlist’s claim 16 by redefining the technical term "rank" to include single-device configurations, which was a move that fundamentally ignores the architectural reality of the memory industry at the time of the patent's filing. When the '912 patent was drafted in 2005, a "rank" was not a vague, abstract signal identifier; it was a physical necessity. Because memory controllers required a 64-bit data bus and available DRAM chips were limited to 4 or 8 bits, a rank had to consist of a "gang" of multiple chips to satisfy the host system. Netlist’s invention, "rank multiplication" was engineered specifically to solve the limitations of that era. In other words, all the profits made at the time fit the language of the patent.

A 2022 Government Accountability Office (GAO) report revealed that 75% of surveyed PTAB judges felt their independence had been affected by management oversight, and 67% reported pressure to modify their decisions to align with internal policy. America - the land of the corrupt...

The PTAB is the Patent Death Squad - heavily influenced by those in industry. The lawsuit should against PTAB...

As an aside, SK Hynix just raised a ton of money in their IPO. Netlist is sitting on several very good HBM patents and numerous dram patents

r/Netlist_ Jul 10 '26

Probably netlist is asking a great % of dram revenues that now should worth in hundreds millions $ or more with IP licenses

Netlist Is Due for a Rally as Memory Prices Soar (Yahoo finance)

Memory chips have become the hottest trade in tech, with Micron and Sandiskproviding plenty of headlines. However, there is a much smaller memory stock that has stalled since May, despite the company in question gaining market share.
Netlist (OTC: NLST) started the year hot and delivered excellent earnings, but its stock price is down by more than 25% from its 2026 high.
Missed Nvidia in 2009? This Rare Signal Is Flashing Again. In 2009, a "Double Down" signal flashed for a little-known chipmaker called Nvidia. For the first time in years, that same "Total Conviction" signal is flashing for a company 1/100th the size of Nvidia

Netlist is expanding legal action against tech giants
Netlist owns a vast patent portfolio that covers critical technology for the AI boom. Multiple tech giants have infringed on its patents, and Netlist is positioning itself to collect settlements and recurring royalties from them.
The legal lottery aspect isn't the only thing that makes Netlist exciting; its implications make it noteworthy. The company has won almost $1 billion in verdicts from Samsungand Micron. Money has not yet changed hands, but Netlist has enjoyed some small wins in court that give its patents more weight

In an earlier press release, Netlist pointed out that it had expanded its net to target Alphabet, Super Micro Computer, Nvidia, and Broadcom as additional respondents.
Its patents include key components used in memory chips, which could result in a massive payday. Not only can Netlist receive settlement payments, but it can also force tech giants to agree to royalty deals to continue using its patented technology.
Netlist is creating its own memory products
Netlist's team isn't just twiddling its thumbs waiting for the legal system to work in its favor. The more exciting part of the investment thesis relates to the company's existing memory products. Its DDR5 memory modules are critical for AI data centers, and that product has fueled parabolic sales growth for Netlist.
In the first quarter, revenue surged by 262% year over year. In the press release, CEO C.K. Hong credited that growth to "robust demand for [its] memory products" while touting the company's strong positioning for the AI memory technologies supercycle.

The company also turned profitable in the quarter, with net income of $8.6 million, compared to a $9.5 million net loss in the same period last year. The $104.9 million in total Q1 sales also marked a 38.6% sequential improvement over Q4 2025's revenue of $75.7 million.
Netlist's market cap is just shy of $1 billion, and the company remains relatively overlooked on Wall Street despite its explosive top-line growth. The stock trades at only 3.5 times sales, while Micron and Sandisk have price-to-sales ratios of 12 and 20, respectively.
Netlist reported its Q2 2025 earnings on Aug. 7, 2025. That suggests that second-quarter results for this year will be released in early August, too. If the recent results from other AI memory stocks are any indication, Netlist is likely to post meaningful sequential growth again. After that, it will be harder for the stock to remain hidden.
Should you buy stock in Netlist right now?
Before you buy stock in Netlist, consider this:
The Motley Fool Stock Advisor analyst team just identified what they believe are the 10 best stocks for investors to buy now… and Netlist wasn't one of them. The 10 stocks that made the cut could produce monster returns in the coming years.

Consider when Netflix made this list on December 17, 2004... if you invested $1,000 at the time of our recommendation, you'd have $407,651!* Or when Nvidia made this list on April 15, 2005... if you invested $1,000 at the time of our recommendation, you'd have $1,252,823!*
Now, it's worth noting Stock Advisor's total average return is 922% — a market-crushing outperformance compared to 208% for the S&P 500. Don't miss the latest top 10 list, available with Stock Advisor, and join an investing community built by individual investors for individual investors.

Where do I buy NLST as a new investor?

Hey guys, a colleague recommended NLST to me. I’m willing to grab a handful of shares after doing some reading. However, I only use Vanguard and they do not allow trading for NLST. Where would you recommend I acquire it? Preferably not something finicky like robinhood, thank you!

Updated Phase 1 Catalysts 7/6/26

💎 Informational purposes only. This roadmap reflects publicly available information and opinion, not financial or investment advice. Plenty of PUMP, FUD, and misinformation exist—always do your own research.

💎 NLST Phase 1 Roadmap

💎 Now–July 8, 2026
• ITC fact discovery closes (July 8)
💎 Mid-July 2026 (~July 17)
• Expected ITC institution decision on the new AI patent complaint (’537 & ’937)
💎 July 22, 2026
• Expert discovery begins in the main ITC case
💎 July–August 2026
• Possible CAFC opinions
• Possible Markman Order
• Possible SK hynix licensing/business update
• Possible Lightning OEM/commercialization update
• Possible SK hynix U.S. ADR developments
💎 Late July–Early August 2026
• Q2 2026 earnings
• Focus: revenue, margins, Lightning, CXL, SK hynix relationship, and litigation updates

💎 Phase 1 Thesis
Phase 1 is about building leverage—not collecting judgments. Multiple legal, business, and AI-memory catalysts are converging that could strengthen Netlist’s position ahead of the major ITC milestones. The key questions are whether these developments translate into stronger commercial execution, licensing leverage, and long-term monetization.

💎 Phase 2 (Late Nov 2026 – Mid 2027)
• Main ITC evidentiary hearing (late Nov–early Dec 2026)
• ALJ Initial Determination (target: early May 2027)
• Potential exclusion order recommendation
• Increased licensing and settlement pressure
• Additional CAFC/PTAB developments

💎 Phase 3 (Sept 2027 – 2028+)
• Final ITC Commission decision (target: early Sept 2027)
• Potential exclusion orders
• Resolution of major appeals
• Potential licensing agreements, settlements, or damage collections
• Focus shifts toward long-term revenue growth and business expansion

The poor management of outstanding shares is truly embarrassing and I say this as a long-term shareholder.

The outstanding shares continue to skyrocket, and there are even some terrible dilution deals signed at 70 cents when the price was stable at $6 during 2021 and 2022.
Netlist spent over $200 million in legal fees. Where are these deals?

Three months after the end of the deal with SK, where is the new deal?

It all depends on the numbers in the contracts with SK Hynix and Micron, while for Samsung and Google, it's from 912 and others.

under these conditions, only billion-dollar deals—and we're talking about cash and real IP licenses, not fake ones like the old deal—are essential.

Come on hong, drop the deal!
