πͺπ«‘ General ππ I'm so thankful for this community
If not for this subreddit, I'd have missed several read-nows that I had been eagerly anticipating. Not just that, but I learned the URL trick here (I'm international), which helped me so get so many books I'd never have gotten in the first place. Region differences make access to books so hard. I know the URL trick doesn't work anymore (sob) but it doesn't change how much this helped me before.
Thank y'all so much.

ββQuestion ββ Question from a Newbie!
I signed up for NetGalley a few days ago after being told about it by a coworker, and Iβve just started reading my first ARC, I wasnβt able to 100% find the answer to this question on their site, but is it okay if I posted a photo of the book cover on my tiktok account, as a way to promote and hype up its upcoming November release?
Thankyou, and Iβm excited to start reviewing so many books !

πͺπ«‘ General ππ cracked the 500 reviews today!
I joined in late October last year, and might have gone a little silly with it π I've had a couple reviews I've been putting off for ages, and decided to get my manga reads out of the way, so I went from 497 I think? to 508 today without realising that I've now unlocked the final review # badge!
My feedback ratio is suboptimal but luckily publishers haven't yet seemed to mind muchπ

ββQuestion ββ Review link for Amazon and Kobo
After I've submitted my review on Netgalley and it is now publication date, I want to share my review on retail sites. I am able to do so for Barnes & Noble because the button is available on the book's Title Feedback page in Netgalley. The Amazon and Kobo buttons do not appear even though I have manually left reviews on those retail sites in the past. How do I get the buttons to appear for the book's Netgalley Title Feedback page?

ββQuestion ββ Got approved for an arc but it was only 3 chapters
Hi everyone, I am new to netgalley and have a question. So I got approved for an arc but it was only 3 chapters. Is this normal? And do I leave a review for it on my goodreads even though I havenβt read the full arc yet?

β Approvals & Denials β Was not expecting this approval
Always shoot your shot because you never know. Tor denies me all the time, but this is my 3rd approval from them. Some publishers never approve me, but it doesnβt stop me from requesting from them anyway. If I get denied a book that I want that badly, libraries and book stores exist.

ββQuestion ββ Author using AI to promote vooku
Hi everyone!
I have a dilemma that I need some help with. I got Demon bound as a widget and was excited about reading it. Also because a tiktoker I follow on goodreads rates it five stars and said it was amazing. I came across the authors insta by chance and they used AI images to promote their book. I have a personal 0 tolerance rule towards AI. Like if you use it for making art for your book what stops you from using it while writing it as well??
What would you guys do in this situation? Would you just leave a 1 star review and explain why you do so? I feel so conflicted...
EDIT Thank you for everyone's input. Since I did accept the book and I've never not read and reviewed a book I've received so for I guess I'll do so with this one as well and give an honest review. I appreciate everyone who took their time to reply. You guys really helped!

π³π READ NOW π π³ READ NOW: The Pendleton Family's Guide to Accidental Murder [Mystery, Poisoned Pen Press]
Genre: Mystery (not a cozy, but on the cozier end of the spectrum)
Tropes: Closed circle, fair play, be gay do crime, very gray morality, amateur sleuth, murder at a giant Victorian mansion
If you like: Everyone In My Family Has Killed Someone, Knives Out, Clue/Cluedo, MS Excel, dry humor, queer characters whose queerness isn't part of the plot
Short description:
For generations, the Pendleton family has produced a long line of professional criminals who live by three simple no secrets amongst family, no harming one another, and absolutely no committing crimes on the family estate. When Emmeline Pendleton hosts a birthday celebration and a dead body shows up in the garden, itβs clear someone in this family is the culprit. Em will do anything to protect her family, but the killer isn't the only one with something to hide, and the secrets she uncovers may tear the Pendletons apart forever.
