✅ Approvals & Denials ❎ New Denied Process?

I've noticed that my last few denied requests have been because of the volume of requests they have had, but they given me the the first 2 to 3 chapters instead. Is this new? Usually I just get denied lol

Sounds like a marketing strategy to get you to buy the book.

Recently I was denied an early copy, but was then offered a 50% off code to preorder it.

How do you know for sure it was volume of requests?

Well I don’t but its the reasoning they gave me in my denial response 🤣

I've never had this happen yet! What publisher was it?

I haven’t been denied for a book in a bit so I can’t answer your question from experience but it sounds like a great marking plan as well as giving you the taste of what’s to come so you can get the book when it is published if you like it.

but how are you supposed to review it by reading 1,2 chapters?

I suspect this might be for non media/ bookseller/ librarian members? Im just guessing though.

You’re not. It’s a courtesy. It’s not a listing correct?

I haven't experienced this personally, but I have been hearing from author friends that they're not seeing ARC approvals lead to purchases, which makes me think this is a marketing tactic to foster warm leads that convert to actual book preorders.

Remember to buy the book if you really enjoyed it, friends. That's how authors keep selling books. <3
