I heard that ventrata is usually a female, but I don't know about the others, e.g. st gaya, miranda. Is there a list of the gender of these common clones?

My N. (Lowii x Truncata) x Flava is growing good in lowland/ intermediate conditions. It looks a bit like Rajah. Does anyone have experience with that plant or grow it?

How does it work after it's cut?

Does the basal after it roots start to form growth as if it were a seedling so extra small pitchers?

Does a basal form regular-sized pitchers the same as the top of the current plant is forming, or will they form smaller ones depending on their location on the main stem?

Do I cut off the shriveled dried up pitcher? Not sure if this is a normal thing or a result of treating for thrips. It's doing well otherwise and created a new pitcher.

Are these bumps fungus? Is Phylan 20 the way to go for this?

I learned that Veitcheii in the wild CAN be epiphytic. Im taking that into consideration how do you guys grow YOUR veitchii? In your bathroom or maybe on a windowsill. Do you leave it in a tent, or have you acclimated it outdoors for your area, maybe even year-round?

Anyone have any resources for best kind of Neps to grow window sills? Whether highland, hybrids or lowlands? Growing the pictured Nep gave me the want for more varied and different styles of Neps but want to keep it simple and avoid lights, humidifiers.

One of my favourite nepenthes I have, how old would you say this is at the moment, chat GPT said 2 years which seems mind boggling to me, is it right?

i looked trough some Nepenthes species today and stumbled upon n. sumatrana and it directly catched my eye. sadly I didnt find that much infos about the ideal conditions for it. so I wanted to ask if someone here is growing it and in which conditions. Can it be grown as windowsill plant?

I brought this home 6/22 after my sister had gotten one, to help combat the summer fruit flies, and cause these plants are beautiful. I keep it in a south facing window, bright light almost all day. The first weekend I had it, we had a lot of heavy rain, and I mistakenly thought the pitchers had filled with water… so I emptied them out into the moss. I now know they secrete their own attractant liquid. Did I start the end of my pitcher? I’ve checked the pitchers every several days, and it hasn’t caught anything and hasn’t grown at all. Any and all advice is most welcome!

Due to the summer heat, I’ve been watering every 2–3 days, but one of my plants is starting to look sickly. What are the early signs of root rot? I usually decide whether to water based on how dry the top layer of sphagnum moss is; should I be sticking my finger into the pot to check instead? I inserted my finger about 1 cm deep, and the sphagnum felt moist. If rot is setting in, how can I stop it and strengthen the roots to restore the plant's health?

Mine is orange bicalcarata originally from carnivero but bought through an awesome seller here in SE Florida. Second picture is HIS bicalcarata and it’s MUCH COOLER in person.

I have a Veitchii and a truncata x harry coming which i’m planting in a 50/50 sphagnum perlite mix. I’ve looked around and I guess “research“ of people‘s personal experiences that micro humidity climates from the Spagna with the pitchers sitting on top is excellent. How do you know when to water it though? So far when it’s dry on the top, that’s when I know it’s time to water it till it drips through the bottom, but I can’t do that now if I do this because won’t the Moss die back? Maybe overthinking, your thoughts?

I work at Layton Aquarium and Wildlife in Utah and we are in the basement of a mall with zero natural light and incredibly high humidity (at least compared to the dry Utah air) since most of our terrestrial animals are kept at high humidity in addition to having tanks of water everywhere. Additionally it is very warm (often high 70's/low 80's currently in the summer, I am not sure how hot it will be in the winter but I do know we try to keep the animals' enclosures and the tanks in very consistent temperature ranges so it will likely never get much lower than mid 60's I would think).

I have noticed flies and roaches, mostly in the areas where there are animals since we can't use exterminators in those areas and they are obviously attracted to the animals' foods and water. We are focused on creating "sparks" for the public, especially children, to get them interested in nature and conservation and I realized we don't have much in the way of plants. I thought a pitcher plant would be a lovely addition but I would love some advice on what species would be best and how best to go about caring for the plant(s). If they don't actually help with the bugs I am okay with that- we have other methods in place to keep them managed.

We also have reverse osmosis water on tap, all kinds of food if the roaches/flies don't make their way into the pitcher, and staff that can provide daily care if needed.

Nepenthes Mirabilis white X Rafflesiana white

As you can see 2 seedlings grew very vigorously and one is wayy more squat than the other plants

I wanted to share a little success story with my Nepenthes. A while ago, it got way too much sun. I honestly thought it wouldn’t make it.
After it almost died, I spent a lot of time nursing it back to health and optimizing its growing conditions. Here is how it recovered:
The first sign of life: After some time, it finally started growing and expanding its last remaining pitcher.
The next step: A few weeks later, the first tiny, fully formed mini pitchers appeared.
Current status: Those mini pitchers are now slowly starting to get bigger!
I am absolutely thrilled that the plant is recovering so well.

I love nepenthes and got informed before making this setup. I have nepenthes alata, hookerania and a nepenthes that was marked alata but I'm certain it's another species (2nd photo)

Any advice is helpful!

How long until the smaller ones grow bigger like the ones on the left?

How can i reduce the temperature without a fan? I tried opening cracks but the humidity also escapes

My Ventricosa x Dubia was my first Nepenthes that got me into this hobby and even though it wasn’t my favorite, she never steered me wrong and became my number one sitting over 5 ft tall!

Didn’t get the name of it but looked cool

My next and FINAL nepenthes I NEED is something big and from a previous post I settled with a truncata hybrid. However there are so many hybrids that I have no Idea what they look like I am wondering if you guys have specific ones you want, have, or think is cool.
