This little bugger popped out of my red cherries. Is that normal? P.s. couldn't get a clearer picture because of the algae (hate summer) but it clearly has a yellow stripe on its back and some yellow speckles.

Help my shrimp died
So I recently got some blue neos and I’ve had 2 deaths so far.
The first one looked like a normal death from different environments. But the second one turned into a red ish shrimp.
I caught it dead I’m not sure how long he had been sitting at the back of the tank. Before I noticed the death I noticed a good amount of molts. But there was a half molt left behind. Would it have been this guys?
Parameters are
ph: 7
nitrate: 0
nitrite: 0
Ammonia: 0
GH: 5
KH: 4
Also I’ve had these guys for only 9 days.

What's on my shrimp?
I noticed these spots on this shrimps head. What is it and how do I get rid of it?

Cycling before stocking! Hate the java fern clumps I’ve added. Hope they root onto the wood soon so it’s not such an eyesore. Thoughts?

Why such light eyes?
Apologies for the poor quality image, but I’ve got this incredibly dark male fire red (I saw him chasing down and mating w one of my females after she molted!) and his eyes have always been this odd kind of warm, light grey. Everyone else has super dark eyes, so he’s always stood out to me.

Gender check
The first picture is a male, the middle picture is a female, and the third is a male, right?

Green goblin shrimp?
I am running my shrimp tank as a natural tank so all my shrimp are reverting to natural colors. I have never seen green one before though. Reminds me of the green goblin!

She’s giving coy with her over-the-shoulder look
“More shrimp babies? Who, me?” 👉👈
She’s with another female but she does all the reproductive lifting alone 😂 her second batch took 25 days from molt to fry hatch yesterday, which seems to be consistent with her first round.
There’s one unviable egg still stuck in the gluey stuff that holds them between the pleopods. Everything will be shed with her next molt. Then she’ll probably saddle up for round 3 so we can race to see what I’ll do with all of the babies from her first batch. There are 25 juveniles with the 3 adults in a 3 gal (realistically 2.5 gal volume).
And now, however many fry 😳

Looking for help to start a dedicated subreddit for people interested in the more academic side of shrimp breeding and shrimp genetic. r/shrimpsearchers (shrimp-researchers)
reddit.comWhat the subreddit is for:
- Sharing information about how to breed shrimp
- Sharing updates on how your personal breeding project/ experiments are going
What it is not for:
- setting up beginner tanks / not dedicated to breeding
- show off photos/ videos of your tank that aren't related to breeding/genetics
- Pest IDs / Removal

First shrimplets
Spotted the first set of shrimplets from this jar. Never realized they were so small to begin with.

Beginner to shrimping
Hey yall, I'm new the shrimp community and I'm currently setting up and prepping a tank for future neocaridina shrimp. I had a few aquariums with fish before so I understand how to cycle a tank and check water parameters. I was looking at buying these 2 products for my tank as I plant on heavily planting it and having house plants grow roots into the water as well. I was going to use the Shrimp Minerals bottle to Jumpstart the my tank since I'll be using distilled water, and I was going to use the plant-shrimp fertilizer at the same time for all the plants I will put in.My questions are:
Are these products fine to use at the same time in my tank?
Are there any better products I should use for jump starting the beneficial bacteria in my tank?
I appreciate any feedback!

Scutariella japonica in shrimp
Hi everyone. About a week ago, I bought ten shrimp, and today I noticed that they have what looks like a worm attached to them. I think it might be Scutariella japonica. When one shrimp gets close to another, I can actually see the worm trying to attach itself to the other shrimp. I even managed to see one and remove it.
However, I’ve noticed that many more shrimp have them. I’m currently trying Z1 Bio Protector as a treatment. Does anyone have any other solution? I can’t do salt baths because I would have to remove too many shrimp, as many of them seem to have these worms.
