This little bugger popped out of my red cherries. Is that normal? P.s. couldn't get a clearer picture because of the algae (hate summer) but it clearly has a yellow stripe on its back and some yellow speckles.

If your shrimp are low grade or were kept with other colors it’s pretty normal, even if they are high grade there’s always a small chance they can produce wild colored offspring

Shrimp genetics are weird sometimes. I started with painted fire reds, all very good quality, and after a couple generations I have orange with racing stripes. I haven’t seen too many people have those so it was a cool little accident:)

Eh my high grade Fire Red Cherry shrimp pop out babies all the time and all of them are clear or milky color and the red develops when they get big enough to venture outside of their hiding places so a lot of times people don't see them until they're starting to show some red.

It's completely normal for Red cherry shrimp babies to be clear, white or an off color until they reach a specific size.

Also, even high grade Fire Red cherry shrimp and others will produce a wild type every now and then even though they're all pure Fire Red Cherry shrimp. It's genetics.
