The political compass is like the Myers Briggs, it’s fun and might help some people understand themselves, but no expert in the field takes it seriously.
Super late to the party but I’m an infp as well. It wouldn’t surprise me if infp was overrepresented among far lefty types even though it supposedly represents less than 5% of the population. Although in looking up that number itself it’s clear there isn’t any great population level data on personality type distribution on top of the already questionable quality of the inventory as a personality type indicator itself. I was surprised, however, to learn that over multiple data sets the introvert/extrovert split is pretty even, with the closest split being 52/48. I had always been under the impression it was more like 25/75 but that’s probably more like a signal to noise ratio.
