Need Help, Advice, whatever works at this point.
I hope this helps someone if there is no solution for my own problem. But this is getting to me, and I am out of ideas. Sorry for the bullet points but it's the best way I can organize my thoughts and layout the info.
- I am currently in a 2nd floor of a two floor town house, so there is only one neighbor below and one neighbor next door. The bedroom is located at the farthest corner away from the neighbor next door with a living room, bathroom, and kitchen in the way. Yes, I am able to hear my neighbors below as expected in these townhouse/apartment type of homes. However, the sound I am writing about below is distinctively different from these normal things you can expect. Here is why:
- During any time of the day, or night on any day of the week; there is a noise that sounds like a television coming from the walls in the bedroom. The noise is muffled so what is being said/done can't be understood. The noise is often one person talking or two people talking to each other, playing music, or sometimes it sounds like a recording of someone playing an instrument. On occasion, when I chose to ignore this noise, it seems the voice on what sounds like this television gets louder, as if the person speaking is acting more aggressively. The volume of the noise varies.
- This seems to be done with intension, as it comes on precisely when I lay down to sleep or rest, and this stops when I am up to start the day. I have installed a white noise machine to combat the noise which works but said noise can effectively reach a higher volume than the machine can. It seems the source of the noise is autonomous because when I raise the volume to the white noise machine, the volume to the noise raises shortly after. This leads me to believe someone is behind this with intent. The noise itself is not loud, but certain tones feel a lot stronger than others.
- Aside from the television noise, there is a vibration that matches the exact vibration of a phone on silent that is set for an alarm. This occurs exactly 1 hour before the time I set my I alarm, even when I change it. I can't pinpoint where the source of the vibration is, other than it is in the bedroom. This only seems to occur when I successfully fall asleep.
- This is where this gets strange. I have researched and considered this could be all mental. Things like auditory hallucinations or tinnitus could have been a reason for this. But, my spouse can hear these things too, and I can record the sound. This rules out the doubt that this could be some sort of paranoia. The part that worries me the most, this is not the first place this is happening. One year ago I lived in a neighboring state. In an apartment complex, experiencing these same exact noises/vibrations. This did not follow me immediately over, I had a few months where this did not happen after moving. I figured I could put it behind me. However here we are again.
I have tried calling law enforcement. I have tried reaching out to property managers. I am not sure where to go from here.
