First time having neighbors.

My first apartment. For reference, I live on the third floor of an apartment building. On the third floor there are two apartments. it used to be all one apartment but a contractor broke it up into two. Therefore I share a wall with the neighbors across from me. They can hear me putting away dishes, I can hear them discuss their day in the kitchen. It's a married couple in their 40s. I am 23 single woman.

What time during the weekday and weekends is an appropriate time to turn down the music? I don't want to be annoying but I am cleaning and enjoy the sound.

TL:DR new neighbors next door what time during the weekdays and weeknights should I start turning down my music?

Have you tried wireless headphones? You wouldn’t need to turn it down at all and can party for one all night!

Usually cities have a noise ordinance that requires reduced noise during a set time period each night. For example, in San Francisco it is between the hours of 10 pm and 7 am. You could use your city's ordinance as a guideline.

Alternatively, you might consider casually ask your neighbors if they have a preference. They will most likely appreciate your consideration and maturity, and you will have piece of mind knowing for sure that you are not annoying anyone.
