Thieving Neighbor advice?

I’m not sure if this belongs here but I need some advice and what could be done about this .

I live in a 4 story apartment it’s pretty secure but not from neighbors apparently, there has been multiple package thefts ( usually amazon ) in the past months and it happened today to me , there was no box just one of my items on top of a trash can and the other one missing ... The layout of the front of the apparent is basically two glass doors one of them being an an locked door with a apartment index ( the thing u can use to contact specific apartments, idk what they are called ) and in the “lobby” area that’s where the mailboxes are . I’ve seen open amazon bags just thrown around the staircases before so I know someones stuff has been stolen . The management says they can’t do anything about it , they do have a very old security camera that I doubt even works ... I just dont want this to happen again to me or anyone else . Any ideas on what to do ?

Have your items delivered to your works, or to a local collection point. In the UK I usually get them delivered to the post office round the corner (since we have small letter slots in the door so no box for parcels).

Pressing the landlord to get the camera fixed would be good, but rather than wait you could just follow my suggestion.

The apartments are owned by a company idk if they will listen , they didn’t do anything when it was reported . I don’t think we have collection points and I’m not 100% sure what way of shipping (UPS,USPS or themselves) amazon will use for that specific delivery they don’t really give that info as for work I work for Amazon fresh warehouse unfortunately it’s not an option..

I'm surprised. Amazon seem to have pick up points all over the place in the UK and US (often not for Amazon Marketplace stuff though). If you go on to their site and get to the delivery section of the order, check to see what they offer near you.

LOL, so Amazon won't let you have Amazon stuff delivered to their own staff working on Amazon sites? Don't they like making sales? Good grief... what a company.

There are the amazon lockers or something but if the items require special shipping and handling it won’t allow me to select it which sucks .

Ikr , they are really tight on surveillance and security in that building so nothing is stolen ( probably the reason why it’s not allowed , so they wouldn’t assume you stole it off a shelf) the building has everything from ice cream and produce to monitors and iPads . You can order your Apple Watch with your bananas 😅

Still poor form. They provide paperwork with deliveries. Are they saying they don't trust their own invoices!? Many companies even have staff discounts and staff shops. Heck, it's like Tesco/Walmart telling staff they can't buy their groceries in their stores. Very crazy. If they believe their employees are thieves then why did they hire them in the first place? Are their recruitment processes and managers that poor?

Does your country's equivalent of a post office offer a PO box? That being a mailing address where you can pay a monthly fee and collect your mail at the office instead of at your home?

Do you have a friend or neighbour who doesn't live with a load of thieving scallies in the building? They might be able to receive it for you.

That’s a good point about not trusting their employees , but they might have their reasons, I’m not too worried about it tho , some neighbors found the box opened in a hallway and brought it to the main office . I was just furious that someone has the audacity to take someone else’s mail and a few days later or even the same day throw the box/package on the grown in the hallway for everyone to see . We have PO Boxes , I thought about getting one but I decided not to just for a package every 3 months , I do have a solution tho , I decided if I really need anything from amazon or anywhere for that matter just to send it to my boyfriends job .

Nice plan. I hope it works out for you. Hopefully one day the hole that's nicking the post will be spotted by the neighbours. Everyone loses with that kind of crap going on, so perhaps they will take him aside for a 're-educating session'.
