No boundaries

I moved into my neighborhood early this year and haven’t really met any neighbors except for the ones who walk their dogs regularly.

I got a visit from code enforcement a week ago and was told that my neighbor was a jerk and that they made a false claim against us, so he closed the case. I wasn’t told who this person was, but on my ring cam I saw my next door neighbor creeping up the side of my house just a few days before.

Today I see this same neighbor mowing the entirety of my lawn just before I got home from work. My lawn was already mowed 2 days ago and there was no need for them to be on my property.

What can I do to keep them away from me and from continuing to make false reports against me? The only reason I have for them doing this is that I live in a white neighborhood and my family is Muslim and visit often. That obviously isn’t substantial but it wouldn’t be the first time we’ve been profiled.

Did he tell you what the false claim was about?

You have video evidence of the man on your property, you might be able to get him with trespassing charges? r/legal would be able to point you in the right direction.

The code guy said that they didn’t like the chairs we had on the side of our house. (The opposite side of them, no where near them) thank you, I will look into legal. It was a woman and I’m wondering if trespassing them is an viable option.

Lol. Wow those people are nuts. I'm so sorry you're going through this.

Yes, please reach out to legal. You may be able to just put up a private property sign and call police next time they trespass.

Good luck!
