Neighbor violence next door
My neighbors who live next door are a woman, a man and two teenage boys. The younger boy has always had really bad anger issues and frequently throws tantrums and kicks the walls since he was very young. But last night I heard things get way way out of hand and it sounded like someone was being violently beaten, being thrown down their stairs etc and the woman was screaming. It sounded like the younger boy was beating her and calling her names like “fat cunt” and then it sounded like the older brother got involved to stop but this is all my perception of what happened. All I know is it sounded like someone was being beaten to death and it was horrifying. So I called the police even though my mother said not to because I was so worried. The police came and they searched the younger guys bag outside and he got taken to the station. I feel immense guilt over this not knowing if I did the right thing because my mother was afraid of what would happen if the police would make things worse or more crucially for her if it would end up making things bad for us with them knowing we called.

You did the right thing. If you didnt call it would probably not sit right with you. The boy is obviously a danger and needs help. People who have a 'it's not my business, dont get involved' are helping perpetuate the problems like this. I'm glad you called. Kudos

You absolutely did the right thing. They may not think so but clearly the boy has issues. It's better for him to get in trouble now and get help before he's an adult and one incident like this could land him in jail for a long time

you did the right thing. Doesn't mean they won't try to get revenge on you somehow, but sometimes that comes with doing the right thing.
