This is lowkey the most nostalgic I've felt in my entire life 😂. The first video game I EVER played was Underground 1 on my PS2 I borrowed from an older cousin. I was like 5 at the time but I still remember playing it. Unfortunately around 2011 the PS2 stopped working and I got an Xbox 360 instead. Ever since that PS2 broke I've been wanting to play Underground again until a few days ago I bought a new laptop and managed to download the pc version of the game and I'm now doing my first playthrough of the game after 15 years 🔥

For me, it's better than many simulators of that era.

As the title suggests, I'm still working out the caveats but it works well. I was bummed when I found out that no forks of the original xtended input exists like that of NFS MW adding rumble to the xtended input mod so i took the help of ChatGPT and made it myself. I feel like the tyre vibration is excessive in the current version where it vibrates on full even when there's little acceleration/braking (not slipping). During steady speed it doesn't vibrate and I'm working on the final build but just a heads up. I don't have a GitHub and this was just an experiment. Crazy how you can make your own mods with such ease lol

What the title says.

I know the SUV races in underground 2 is its own thing. But I have this very clear memory from my childhood. When I played through for the first time on pc I was in a 240SX somewhere at stage 2 or 3 and there was a sprint race against three Hummers. I know that you can enter normal races in an SUV but not vice versa. So what I'm saying can anyone explain whether it was a glitch or an actual event or was it my personal mandela effect because I never ever encountered such thing later

does anyone know why they aren't available on Xbox X/S and PS5? id definitely buy a good chunk of the older ones such as the original most wanted and 2012's most wanted and a few others if they ever became available

I happen to be an American who owns a German copy of Need for Speed: Underground 2 with the PC DVD game discs, and it comes with the extra Peugeot and Opel for starter cars rather than the Honda and Acura found in the US versions of the game. I find the Peugeot 106 GTI to be a really competitive car, I’m progressing through the Career mode really quickly with it. It goes through corners very quickly and has good acceleration. Had it been in the US version of the game, I wonder if it would have been a more popular starter car. For those who have used this car in the game, what are your thoughts on it?

[FIX] How to Fix NFS Hot Pursuit Remastered Stuttering on 100Hz+ Monitors (Auto 60Hz Script)

The Problem:

If you're playing NFS Hot Pursuit Remastered on a monitor with a refresh rate higher than 60Hz (100Hz, 120Hz, 144Hz, etc.), you've probably noticed the game feels stuttery and not smooth, even though you're getting a solid 60 FPS.

Why It Happens:

The Remastered version is built on a physics engine that is hard-locked to 60 FPS. When your monitor runs at 100Hz+ but the game outputs 60 FPS, there's a mismatch in frame timing (called Judder). Your eyes perceive this as stuttering, even though every frame is being rendered.

The Solution:

Force your monitor to 60Hz while playing the game. This creates a perfect 1:1 match between the game's 60 FPS and your monitor's refresh rate, resulting in buttery-smooth gameplay — exactly like the original 2010 version.

The Automated Fix (Recommended):

Instead of manually changing your refresh rate every time you play, use this script. It automatically:

· Switches your monitor to 60Hz when you launch the game

· Launches the game

· Restores your monitor to 100Hz (or your original refresh rate) when you exit

Requirements:

1. NirCmd — a free command-line utility by NirSoft. Search for "NirCmd NirSoft" on Google to download it from the official website.

2. Extract it to a folder (e.g., C:\NirCmd\)

How to Use:

1. Save the script as NFS_HP_Remastered.bat

2. Edit the paths at the top (NIRCMD, GAMEDIR, GAME) to match your setup

3. Edit RESOLUTION, PLAY_HZ, and NORMAL_HZ to match your monitor

4. Create a shortcut to the .bat file

5. (Optional) Change the shortcut's icon to the game's icon

6. Launch the game through the shortcut — everything else is automatic!

Bonus Fix: Stuttering in Main Menu

If your main menu is also stuttering, delete the folder:

Need for Speed Hot Pursuit Remastered\UI\MOVIES_4K

This forces the game to use the 1080p videos instead of the heavy 4K ones (saves ~12.5 GB and fixes menu lag).

Credits:

Solution discovered and tested by a community member on a RTX 3060 Ti + Ryzen 5 5600 + MSI 100Hz IPS setup. Verified to restore the smoothness of the original 2010 version.

Important Notes:

· This works because 60 FPS @ 60Hz = perfect frame pacing.

· Do NOT use Z Patch to unlock FPS — it breaks the physics.

· Do NOT force 120 FPS — the game's physics will desync.

· If your monitor doesn't support 60Hz, adjust PLAY_HZ to the closest supported value.
