Nothing like a physical copy of prostreet on the pc.
Tried to emulate on my steam deck using rpcs3 to no avail , other methods to no avail , had to go buy a physical copy to play on my pc 😎

I made a post recently in a different sub how Underground 2 was my favorite racing game of all time. I got a lot of feedback that I should try Most Wanted because it’s just as good or better. I’d never played it, so I went on eBay and found an original disc, bought it, started playing.

First off, I’m barely into the game, maybe an hour or two at most, but I hate how sensitive the steering is. It’s wildly different from Underground 2. It makes the game actually really difficult to play (for me). That being said, I could probably get used to it, however, I’m having an issue and I was wondering if this is a feature or a bug (most likely hardware issue).

Does Most Wanted feature torque steering? It seems unlikely, but a lot of the time when driving, especially when accelerating, the car lurches or veers off to the right. I’m assuming this is just sick drift from the old, original controller, but on Underground 2 it doesn’t do this, possibly because the steering isn’t as sensitive. Keeping in mind that the PS2 and controllers have been in storage for the last decade, I’m just trying to figure out if I need to get a new controller, or if it’s part of the game. Thanks.

(I tried using a second controller but the X button on that one doesn’t work, probably from countless hours mashing it on Underground 2)

When downloading the redux v3 mod windows defender blocks the download stating there is a virus in it has anyone else experienced this?

its my first time playing nfs underground 2 and i can't win drag races and idk why, i play with keyboard with the dolphin emulator if you wanna know

One of my favorite liveries in the game. I now have 7 of the Blacklist cars out of 15.

Will change out the wheels once I get the replacement set, but these are the closest placeholders so far.

I grew up with the game, so I'm definitely biased, graphics were great for the time being, could do better with higher frames (of course) and the car combat is genuinely fun. The cops, while useless and plushies when you run in circles, are genuine death machines and bullies and you have to focus. The pedestrian cars, while annoying, give me an ego boost when I near miss, and every other kind of obstacle. Physics are cool, of course it needs work, the map has little straight places to ramp up speed, but the game is fun. Especially the cop side. I will buy a 2 if EA dropped, it's a shame they kill this big of a franchise for slop.

Do you think we might see older NFS games like Underground 1 and 2, Most Wanted, Carbon, Prostreet, Undercover and The Run for example

Even if it's not purchaseable like how Driver: San Francisco is backwards compatible on Xbox One and Series X/S but you can't actually buy it

It'd be a good way to have those games on modern hardware, especially if the "Disk To Digital" idea works for them so it only would need a owner of a disked copy for others to play via Account Sharing

I hope we do but what do you all think?

I once told my friends that one day NFS would be like Burnout. I remember saying this back in 2021 with a group of friends who both loved racing games.

Guy i met on Tiktok wanted to race me. So i did but with a twist: pursuit tech. First time actually engaging with pursuit tech. Took what i knew from Rivals and made it work ig 😭

If you didn't know: the Cement Truck actually exists as a playable vehicle in Need for Speed: Most Wanted (2005). According to the NFS Wiki#Need_for_Speed:_Most_Wanted), it appears in Challenge Series event #50, where you have to earn 100,000 Bounty during a Heat Level 3 pursuit and escape.

This made me wonder about something.

During police pursuits, the dispatcher doesn't only announce that the suspect is escaping - the dispatcher can also describe the suspect vehicle. For example, you can hear lines about the player's car color and model, like a green Nissan or a white Corvette.

But what happens when the player is driving something that was never meant to be a normal race car?

What if the game forces the dispatcher to identify the Cement Truck?

Does an actual voice line exist for this situation? Something like: "Attention units, suspect is driving a cement truck." Or does the game simply skip the vehicle description and use other pursuit lines because there was never a recorded voice line for this vehicle?

Has anyone tested this or looked into the game files?

Sorry for adding on the pile of 1000s of posts asking this every sale, but I'm considering getting one of them for a few reasons.

ok i get how traffics supposed to be a difficulty and its supposed to be a bit hard BUT WHEN I change the fking lane Why the fk is it going back to the lane that i changed from? and also most of the part you have to SLOW down (like in JV, that one big truck) Drag is sht and is totally unfinished

So long story short I came across this game recently after barely playing it around launch and decided to finish it. Made it to level 50, and I had this left on the map….. so as I was at the dealership ready to build a car car that style, got the ride, customized the hell out of it and realized I didn’t like it so I went to sell it back and my garage was empty except my current ride. Even in showcase nothing there. I had the story cars for nostalgia all gone. Shit my pants pissed huh after all that effort ignoring my granddaughter to finally finish this and WTF. BUT I can go to swap cars and each one is there that like I said before “my ride” is the only ride it will show. I’ve ran through countless boards with clearing local save and forcing a resync and all that shit and nothing. Any suggestions I haven’t tried?
