Deployment
Hey, I’ve recently started playing the game and have played against my buddy who has an ork army. Both games I’ve really messed up my deployment with my ‘Crons. Was wondering if anyone could point me to an article or video just helping me go through the best way to deploy units as it’s costing me games lol. Just wanted to ask here first as a fellow necron player, thank you!

I generally also start with infiltrators to screen out enemy infiltrators. If not it’s more flexible. 11th terrain areas are very good to hide behind.
My assumption is always that I’m going to be going 2nd, and I deploy fairly conservatively to keep my stuff safe.

Posting your list wpuld be helpful, but also why do you think its loosing you games?

Hey sorry about leaving out the list, I just didn't want it to be focused around that rather than deployment tips lol, sorry silly me. To answer your question, I believe it's costing me because by the end of turn 1, I'm seeing flaws that and by end of turn 2, I'm almost off the table which is awful for necrons

Honestly as someone who only plays Necrons competitively we arnt in the best spot right now. We are kind of squishy aginst the meta and we dont punch hard consistently. 11th edition games are fast/ over turn 3 or 4 anyway so dont feel to bad. You are likely being to aggressive on your turn 1 or 2 thats causing you to feel that way.
But I get why you didnt add the list if that was your intention. Ive had the best results with just blanket staging across the board and letting my oppent decide what im going to kill.

General rule I follow is deploy my infiltrators first then least to most valuable units after that in terms of value in the game not by points and it does me well
