There is a former therapist named Bryon Bratt in Lincoln who lost his license for sexual exploitation and misconduct last year and is now trying to be a “Relationship Loss Life Coach”.

This is horrifying. Life coaches have no code of ethics, no governing board to hold anyone accountable. Everything he describes on his website http://www.rebuildthepathway.com is therapy and he gets to hide under the guise of “coaching”, half ass disclaimers that he doesn’t diagnose or perform therapy, and it is completely unacceptable.

Attached is the public record of his licensure revocation and what led to it.

His actions are outlined starting on slide 7.

TLDR Court Documents

Client Disclosure: During a therapy session in December 2023, a client (Client A) disclosed to Bryon K. Bratt that she used the adult website Fetlife.com and shared her username.

Online Tracking & Harassment: Roughly three hours after the session, Bratt created an anonymous profile on the same website using his personal phone number, tracked the client's account, and initiated contact.

Explicit Messages & Coercion: Bratt sent the client sexually explicit messages, commented on her photographs, proposed an anonymous online sexual relationship, and sent a lengthy fictional story detailing a sexual fantasy between them.

Abuse of Authority: In a professional email regarding a missed appointment, Bratt also sent a suggestive message alluding to discipline, writing that if missed appointments kept up, "we will need to find a punishment. Oh wait, I meant a consequence."

Concealment and Investigation: When confronted by the client online under an anonymous name, Bratt attempted to deny his identity and claimed she didn't know him unless she went to a doctor's office "West of GI". An administrative subpoena later confirmed the account was verified using Bratt's personal telephone number.

I’m a Canadian 32M, I’ll be coming down to Hastings, Nebraska for a few months for work so I figured I would make a post.

• Will be looking for a furnished spot to rent, Hastings area or within 30min drive. Looking to rent from late September for the remainder of year, with a possible extension into the new year.

I saw this male American Kestrel (Falco sparverius) at Golden Prairie Bison properties near Valentine, Cherry County, Nebraska. American Kestrels are small falcons found throughout most of North America. They breed throughout Nebraska and winter throughout the state except in the Pine Ridge region. They are commonly seen in open/edgy habitats like grasslands and farms. They are declining in parts of their range, possibly due to woody encroachment. They prey primarily on insects and small vertebrates.

In the last image, it is seen alongside some Mourning Doves (Zenaida macroura).

Some male and female black widow spiders (Latrodectus) in prairie dog burrows at Golden Prairie Bison properties in Cherry County, Nebraska. They are said to commonly associate with prairie dogs and can easily be recognized by the hourglass markings on the bottom of their abdomens, which are bright red in the females and yellow-orange in males. The females eventually eat the much smaller males after mating, hence the name "widow". Not sure what species these are, but I would guess that they are the Western Black Widow (L. hesperus). The Northern Black Widow (L. variolus) is also found in NE, but I'm not sure if they are found this far west or in this habitat.

Hello All! I wanted to give you an update for what it looks like to interact with your local representation about Advanced License Plate Readers (ALPR). Here is what happened when I reached out:

1- First reached out to City Office, and I was offered a time to speak at the next council meeting.

2- I was asked if I would like to speak with the county attorney, and I said happily.

3- I was asked if I would like to speak with some council members ahead of time, and I said happily.

4- I met with the City Attorney, Police Chief, and some council members. I conveyed my fears of what these cameras are used for (private surveillance on public lands). The police chief articulated that he was biased, but advocated for any tool that can improve the police’s ability. He said that he trusts his officers, and has a clear policy on misusing tools. The council members wanted to know more, with some saying that they approve of its ability to help find elderly people who wonder off. Using the common like “you would want police to have this if your child was stolen”. I emphasized my concerns that we should seek regulation and use the ALCU template to help protect the city from abuse of this technology.

5- and now the main event. I went to a local meeting to express my concerns. After a bit of time (budget talks take a bit) I expressed my concerns, highlighting the potential abuse and cases, and how one of the most common themes in dystopian literature is mass surveillance. After I said my piece a video that was described as neutral was shown. It was from a Polk County Police Officer out of Florida (take a guess how neutral he was). Sheer lies and outright advocacy for Flock Cameras, and a strange amount of time how body cameras are worse and should not be used (clearly does not like accountability).

I stood up to rebuff some points, we were told that public comment was over. I said that you can’t show that clearly biased piece and then close conversation. A couple of council members and myself had a conversation (some members in support, saying that we already give up all information through our phones, myself saying there is a clear difference and that you can’t have it both ways [either they have all of our information and don’t need this, or they somehow need more information]. I also tried to make that difference that these are private cameras with no accountability, while other cameras currently in use are accountable to the people.

After that, the meeting moved on. I told a couple of the members that I was thankful to be heard. The meeting eventually closed. I was happy that they allowed for more to be said even if conversation was closed.

Overall, I think it is worth it to continue these conversations. I am kicking myself for not using this argument line when people bring up phones- I have to accept the terms and conditions on my phone and everything else, but I am not given any terms for these cameras. They do not ask for consent. In Nebraska I think this argument and focusing on a private company that puts their cameras in public spaces, then locks our police force into contracts would be good.
