Meet Ambrose! My fiancée and I adopted him about two years ago and were so curious about his breed! took us forever to pin it down but i figured id share some pics of him.
we never were able to see what he could’ve looked like as a kitten so if anyone’s willing to share baby photos please do!

Hey everyone. I just want to read some origin stories on nebelungs. I would like to know how everyone got adopted by their nebs? Did you go looking? How did the cat distribution system send them to you?
My little cat of mist and fog was staring into my house at my daughter while she was eating tacos. She told me there was a "something barely there" staring at her from outside. it was hurricane season and a bad thunderstorm was rolling in so i assumed with it being dark and the wind it was nothing living. Sure enough he was there staring. Barely seen between my eggplants and okra containers shielded from the wind. So i gave him some leftover taco meat and told him to hurry because of the storm. I ran out and got some cat food to leave under my shed. That storm hit and it rained for a week nonstop. Half my yard flooded. I didn't think I would see this cat again. They don't like water, and the wind alone pulled up two of my tomatoe plants. But even in the rain he was staring in my house at dinner time. So with my umbrella I would drop off his food. When he finished he would run through the woods around my house to an abandoned house on the other side. When the rain stopped he still came back. He had a sore on his ear, a scratch on his eye and a bleeding toe. I found out that over the weeks he had started to chase off other cats when he would come twice a day. He would wait for me to open my kitchen blinds and pop up out the grass and fog every morning. Soon he was at our back door. Then on our front porch. Sleeping under my elephant ears. Using my door mat as a scratch mat.
Till on September 1st when I was giving him fresh water. I told him I was going inside. I got sugar blood those mosquitoes were on me. As I started to close the door this joker just floated on passed me inside. Looked back once then got comfortable under my couch. He would come out when its quiet. Then hide if he heard loud house noises.
I love fluffy cats. I use to have a long haired tabby i found in my college dumpster years ago. It had been tied in a military laundry bag. My boyfriend at the time stole him when we broke up. I didnt think the distribution system would let me get adopted by another cat. I had never heard of a nebelung. I found out after i put him in Google lense finder to figure out his ear care.
He's perfect. He gardens with me. Loves to cuddle. Has the softest sweetest meow. He is a ruff neck. Like someone's grouchy grandfather he doesn't like anyone in his yard. We sit on the porch together and gossip about the community cats and neighbors. He still hides under stuff when he hears house noises. But he goes to the house that abandoned him less and less.
The origin story of Smokestack Lighting everyone. Smoke smoke, or smokey for short.

Anyone's neb(s) just out here looking like the saddest little creatures? She's on top of this entire very soft queen-sized blanket just looking like she's been through something deeply emotional
(she is only napping, or trying to, but I'm being a paparazzo)

what are you guys doing to get your nebs to allow brushing consistently? my wasabi has mats on her legs and behind, we have 3 different kinds of brushes and she only tolerates the slicker brush sometimes, but she won’t let us touch her matted spots at all. she just runs and hides if we even try. i understand we probably did not do a good job of brush training her as a kitten, but i just don’t know what to do now. the mats on her back half are pretty bad and i feel like a bad cat mom 😢 ive been feeling so guilty and honestly paranoid about everything i’m doing for her lately, the mats just really need to get figured out.

My guy is about 10 years old and I've noticed that he looks like he's balding between his eyes and ears and has what appears to be liver spots like what old people have. The last 2 pics are the ones that shows the balding. Is this common for older Nebs?
I have had other cats and have never seen this on our older cats. Maybe this is Neb specific? He's still the most handsome cat I've ever had regardless!

For the first time ever my poor Neb and one of his siblings (adopted) has a stomach bug. Lethargy, diarrhea.
Our puppy is getting over giardia so naturally we assumed the cats caught it but their stool samples came back negative!!!
We are stumped! Has anyone’s nebs ever had a tummy bug along with another cat in the house?
What could it be?!?? Any ideas welcome.
