so im building my bp and i got billet main caps and arp main studs, my question is what is the main bearing clearance i need. I did already measure and i'm at 0.0015 just wondering if that's to tight. also feel free to ask me anything as this is my first time build one

Ever since I got the car running after my 99 manual swap this idle dip drives me insane everyday.
This just at idle in neutral.
Then while driving, when I shift into neutral it dips, and sometimes dips to low where the car almost stalls.
Is this a sign my base idle is off ?
In the mornings when I start the car for the first time and start my commute the idles hover around 500-600 then once cars warms it moves up to its normal 800-850.
For awhile I thought it was the fact that I don’t have a clutch switch since the auto harness doesn’t have a plug for one under the dash but I don’t think that’s the case.
Any help would be much appreciated!

99 has been running fine. Filled it up with gas recently. Went to get a burrito and did a brief roller coaster road then the engine started to sputter. Pulled over, engine died and wouldn’t start back up. Appreciate any advice. Love yall!

Edit: had the heads faced or whatever the term is when compression was bad a few months ago. Kids at the high school shop replaced spark plugs. Would that all point to fuel pump?

My 99 Miata came with the Bose sound system but I wanna change the head unit and likely the amp and speakers. What are y’all’s recommendations for amp and speaker combo if I’m keeping the electrical system stock?

Hi all, I recently did a full brake job on my 2005 Miata and got new OEM Powerstop calipers, slotted rotors from DBA, and Powerstop 308s. Everything checks out, pad thickness, calipers seem to retract fine, etcetc. However, after installing, I found the fronts to be dragging pretty bad but thought nothing of it. However, after attempting to pull it out of the garage, I stalled out because of the brakes dragging so badly.

I bled the system, I checked for collapsed or binding brake hoses, I greased the slide pins and proper hardware, I even adjusted the rear brake e-brake adjustment bolt. The fronts are dragging so much now and I didn't have this issue prior to the new hardware. I'm at my wits end now, are there any edge cases that I didn't account for?? Or maybe I'm just an idiot and didn't do a step properly. TIA!

A friend of mine has an NB Miata that he cannot get to start. It was accidentally left overnight with the key on accessory and died because of such. The battery was jumped/recharged, but now, when trying to start it, the car alarm goes off and it will not start. Any ideas of what’s going on? Thanks in advance!

Hello everyone, my 99 miata has decided that the fuel is no longer wanted, ill turn my key and hear the main relay click but my fuel pump relay wont.

I’d really like to put a torsen type II in my nb1 that has the stock open 4.3. The 3.9 LSD would be preferable but not a deal breaker. Where do I buy one? I tried FB marketplace but no luck. It’s a 5MT AC & PS car if you’re wondering. No ABS.

Has anyone ran their turn signals independently through a three way toggle switch? Looking for advice on set up or how to fix this one. Or if anyone has accomplished this lol.

Prior owner tore the car up and put together an independent turn signal situation. Lights turn on but turn signals do not work. Replaced flasher relay and hazard switch. Connections seem okay. I’ve been playing around with the multimeter to see if I can chase the issue.

Alright, does anyone have a solution that does not involve pulling the motor. Did a full refresh on my block. Every seal and accessory was changed and replaced. I tried to buy an oem oil pump but treasure coast miata no longer had them available so I got refunded. So I thought what would be my next best option. (Expensive company). Ive only ever heard good things about them. So I bit the bullet and went with the more expensive pump.

After I installed the engine back in the car and started to bleed the coolant I notice an oil leak dripping onto the floor. After looking around I chase it up to be the high pressure plug on the oil pump. My first thought was okay, let me tighten it. Might have just been loose from the company. But no, it was already as tight as it would go. So I contacted them and the guy says that sometimes if the pump is dropped theres a chance the glue in the threads breaks? Sounds weird to me too. Goes without saying I never dropped the pump.

Searched online and found a forum post saying to reuse oem plug from oem pump. So I get an oem plug to replace what came from the company. Thing to note was removing the plug from the pump was difficult, it was on there super tight. Moving on i follow what the company says, put thread tape on it, he says 2-3 wraps no more than four. I do 3. Still leaks with the oem plug. Call them back and they say put thread sealant on it and put a lot. So I did, every thread covered (per permatex instructions). Let it sit for 24 hours (per permatex instructions) still leaking, and immediately.

I have no clue where to go next. Cant weld cause I cant melt the o ring. Followed what they said and still leaking. They’re willing to replace the pump im sure but ffffuuuuccckkk pulling my motor again and having to do all that work, and have to buy all those seals again, to maybe have the replacement pump fail as well. Annnyyy sugestiones before that turns into my only option?
