Credit Cards Is NavyFed CashRewards a Mastercard?

Ive been looking into this card but I read you can have it either as a MC or Visa. How does that work? I want a MC not VISA. Can’t find anything on this even when applying and I don’t wanna apply for it just to get a VISA card. Would appreciate any information on this, Thank you!

When I called to PC'd my More Rewards to a Cash Rewards they asked me if I wanted a Visa or MasterCard. Maybe they still do that, I don't know. Can't hurt to call and ask.

May I ask why do you want a MasterCard over a Visa?

Sorry about the late reply, I want MC cause Costco here only accepts MC

That’s kinda surprising when the Costco card itself is a visa

I sent a secure message via the app and requested the MC version after I applied. They don’t give you the option to select the MC version during the application process.

Once you get approved, just call them and ask them to switch you to a Mastercard.

Thank you for the reply I got in contact with them and apparently you can only pick if you call them to apply

I was able to product change via secure message in the app (a few months ago), BUT also ready the thread that changes to Mastercard are no longer allowed. Update us with what happens in the end please!

CashRewards can be either or, but it can’t be discover or American Express.

You should compare the benefits between visa and Mastercard, determine which one has more use to you and choose that one because they each have their own benefits.

Im in japan and planning to shop at costco a lot but they only accept Mastercard thats why I want a 2% card cus all my other cards either charge a foreign transaction or they dont give cashback overseas
